Quinn walked slowly down a small path, it was only broad enough for two or three men two walk shoulder to shoulder. She pulled her jacket closer around her, it was getting colder and the sun would set behind the trees soon. She loved taking walks, but especially in the forest. The forest was her home away from home, a place where she can go to relax, or to calm down.
Quinn scrolled through her iPod, trying to find a song to fit her mood along the evening stroll. She was staring intently at the small screen when she bumped into something.
"Wha... ?", she knew there wasn't anything blocking the path. She slowly looked up to see a man. He was tall, and she got lost in his eyes, like a dark pool of water. His face was dark, and somewhat criticizing, but not cruel, much like her own. "I'm...", she faltered, "I'm sorry... " She realized that she was staring, and looked down quickly, beginning to blush under her makeup.

Deep in thought, Kon hadn't noticed the woman walking along, whom had caught up behind him and happened to bump into his backside. Normally he would hear such things in advance, being as difficult as it was to sneak up on him, but here, a woman had done so, even accidentally, just because he'd been distracted with something in his mind. Turning to face her, his deep blue eyes narrowed slightly as they slid to glance down at her, not moving away until she broke the gaze herself, where he then looked off into the distance, scanning through the trees briefly, wondering if anyone else was around that he missed detecting. He stood silently for a moment before speaking up taking note of her apology, his voice deep, with his words formed in a thick Russian accent and rather monotone. "Vhat are you doing here.. alone..?" Didn't she know there could be dangerous people around, like him?

She scoffed, "What are you doing here?" She didn't understand why he was asking such an absurd question, she practically live here... Well, not quite, but almost. She sighed. She loooked at his face through the thick mist, " I've never seen you before. You knew to these parts? I could help you out, ya know, figure things out. " She didn't know where she was going with this. "I know I'm rambling, sorry. I do that when I get... nervous", she blushed. She didn't know why she was so around this guy.
She looked up. It had started to sprinkle and there was a loud crack of thunder. She winced as she put her hood over her head. Shelightenedup, "I'm Quinn by the way. She attempted to grin, but it fell away instantly.

A grin very slightly began to edge at the corner of his lips, amused by her feisty nature. He ignored her initial question, as he didn't quite know himself, he just had urges to get out and wander from time to time in the forest alone. She seemed pretty brave wandering out here alone, with darkness nearing. It wasn't very often that he met a woman who wasn't easily afraid of such things.
Help him out? A man like Kon needing help? It was almost insulting to him that she asked such things, at least to his ego. But.. from time to time, he did get into things over his head. Nervous? He often had that affect on others, although it was unintentional. Something about his usual unreadably cold expression made people feel a little uneasy at times. He shifted the weight on his back, adjusting the pack as he leaned down a few degrees, keeping the rain from hitting his face. "Yes, I just moved here.." He slowly extended a hand to her in greeting. "I'm Konstantin, Nice to meet you Quinn."

Quinn raised her brow, "Konstantin, I like it. And that accent... You must be Russian? But what are you doing herein Noatak?" , she questioned. She took his hand and shook it, he had a firm grip, and was obviously very strong. While her smaller hand was still in his, she led him to the safety of a large oak tree. "It's starting to rain harder, and I don't think we want to be caught in a storm at this time of year." , as she said this, she realized her hand was still in his and she widened her eyes. "Oh, sorry... " , she slipped her hand slowly out of his and let it fall clumsily to her side.
She shifted her weight. I can help you out with the Talismans, if you like." She forced a sly grin onto her face.

As he gently took her hand, he pulled it up slowly to his lips to very briefly kiss the top of her hand, not as a show of sexuality, but out of respect, as she was a woman. He watched her eyes as he did, searching for any signs of resistance, as western women usually felt uncomfortable with this much physical contact, but to him it was disrespectful not to have any. He nearly let her hand go, but found himself following her as she lead him by his hand. He didn't put up a fuss, seeing that he was somewhat persuaded by her friendly demeanor, and well.. the fact that she was a beautiful woman, surely that helped too. He didn't mind the extra physical contact on her part, she had no reason to be sorry, he liked it. "I was here, by my dreams."
Talismans? How did she know about that? And why was she choosing to tell him this? Maybe it was a lucky guess. He was rather surprised. Intrigued, he watched her intently. "Vhat do you know.. ?"

Quinn was a sucker for foreign accents, and his was no excuse. She also liked the fact that he kissed her hand, she liked a guy with manners. "What do I know? I know plenty. But if you're talking about Talismans, I know very little. However, I do know that you don't want those Innocents breathing down your neck like barbarians. But, yeah, I had those dreams also. Very disturbing, to say the least. And I'm not easily disturbed." , she said, looking him in the eye. There was a loud cackle of lightning, and the rain began to fall harder, and there were bits of ice and snow beginning to fall. She slowly took a deep breath, closing her eyes. I love the sound of the pouring rain on the leaves. Sounds quite like an Armageddon's flame."

Leaning against the hard tree, he got himself more comfortable as he listened. "Innocents? You do not like them? Have bad experience?" The rain, as it was getting more intense, was beginning to drip down between the branches, blowing against them. The oak tree didn't seem to be helping much shelter-wise with the rain, although, he didn't seem to mind any that he was getting all sopping wet. Kon was usually hot with a high metabolism, and it felt good to him. As for her, he knew she might not be able to stay out here in the weather for very long. "Yes.. storms and dangerous things are the most beautiful, I think."

"No, I don't like them. And I suggest you avoid them too," she said, walking to a drier spot underneath the great tree, unless you want to get killed. Not by the Innocents but by me, and my fellow Hunters" , as she said this a breeze blew the hair away from her face, making her look more dangerous than she already was.
"Dangerous things are the most beautiful of all, like you and I, I suppose" , as she said this, lightning cackled and lit up her face, adding to the affect."[/b]
She shivered. "You know, they say if you embrace one another, you can stay warmer that way, just a theory." , she grinned playfully.

How bold she was, to say such a thing. He was caught almost off guard by her remark, as she had seemed innocent and demure before, but here again her feistiness was nipping at his ego. Her, take him out? He looked dead serious for a moment as he watched the rain fall onto the ground. He laughed heartily, a large grin spreading over his face for a brief moment, then he let out a light sigh, "Hah hah hah! ... Ahh, I like how you think Quinn.". She reminded him of his family, and how he felt with them, but that was all in the past, he had to stay away from them now.
He decided to test this theory of hers, but first, he would test her word, was she in fact dangerous? What would she do? His eyes were narrowed as he stared into hers, and suddenly without warning, he took a big step towards her as he leaned into her, intending to grab her around the waist. His movements were fluid and precise, and if she looked away, he could detect where she would be going, because the eyes usually led first before anything else.

Quinn was taken by surprise once she realized what he was going to do. But she moved quickly, and produced a small, wooden pocket knife from her pocket and flicked open with one swift movement of her wrist. She took step closer to him, finishing the distance between them so the blade was merely and inch from his throat.
"What now, wise guy?" , she said, grinning. She liked that she could never guess what he would do next, it was very entertaining. "Expect the unexpected, they say" , she pressed the small blade to his throat, but not enough to break the skin, and she searched his face for any ounce of fear.

As her blade was taken out and used against him, she was obviously fast, and quite dangerous.. but did she have the gumption? It seemed so. He liked that. A woman who wasn't all talk. It was refreshing to him. He slowly slid his muscular arm around her waist anyway, pulling her closer partially against him, even though the blade was pressed to the skin of his throat. In doing so, it cut slightly into him, just enough to make him bleed. The red liquid trickled down his neck, soaking into the black collar of his already saturated shirt. Moving her against the tree, he removed his arm, pinning her there with his weight, as he gently, but firmly restrained her arm, removing the knife and sliding it into one of his boots. Then before standing, with a devilish grin, he picked her up by an arm and her legs, carefully, but easily tossing her over one of his broad shoulders, his grin only growing as he started to walk into the pouring rain.

She let in a quick intake of breath as he slid his arm smoothly and swiftly around her waist. She loosened her grip on the knife, allowing him to easily take him from her. She tried ducking away but he was quicker. Quinn gasped as he picked her up smoothly and tossed her of his shoulder! "Put me down this instant you barbaric oaf!" , she said with difficulty before being over taken by a laughing fit.
She hit him on the back repeatedly, but not enough to actually harm him, looking like a small child throwing a tantrum. Suddenly she had an idea and quickly flipped her body over his shoulder so she was riding him piggy-back style, then she slid down his back and stood on her feet again. "Well, that was fun" , she muttered out loud as she wiped a loose strand of hair from her face.

As soon as she started hitting him, he tensed with a grunt, but ignored her request to put her down. She managed to flip and slide loose, which he allowed. Turned to look her in the eyes, he spoke with a half grin, "You're not so tough.. you're just a feisty one. Are all hunters like this?"
The rain was getting worse, with thunder rumbling through the dark, swaying forest and lightning flashing overhead. His clothes and pack were soaked, and the wind was picking up. So much for setting up camp tonight, this little dame had distracted him, but it had been interesting for sure. He began to walk back towards the city, his black boots making squishing noises with each step through the mud. "So.. tell me more.. about these Hunters.."

Quinn scoffed, Feisty, am I? Besides, I was going easy on you,"she said, glaring playfully at him. She began jogging slowly by his large stride. "Umm, yes, most. Some work secretly, some don't. It changes with the individual, I'm not one into stereotyping." She raised her eyes towards him and read his expressions, but she couldn't tell much. Truth was, she didn't know much about Hunters herself, but she wasn't going to show it, she was good a bluffing. "Where are you headed, anyways?", with that she began to run ahead of Kon, trying to test his speed. The clouds were darkening above, and wind wipped at Quinn's coat. Quinn saw something out of the corner of her eye, and quickly glanced towards it, but before she could clearly see it, it wipped away deeper into the trees. It was probably just a small fox, but Quinn didn't fance that, and she began running harder.
