Jocelyn laughed quietly. Not all men leave you know. And there is a thing called protection. Condoms and birth control pills. So getting pregnant is not the most important thing to worry about. What if....well what if Ryan gets tired of waiting? no matter how much he loves you? Im just saying, some guys are like that. Im not saying he is...just, well you know. Jo wondered if she was talking and somehow relating it to herself. Probably. She was jealous? She may be pushing the getting intimate on Kali, but why did she half to say he might get tired of waiting? She should be telling Kali that she and Ryan probably had true love, and he was a great guy. Well he is a great guy..She shook her head. Keep things simple. I see what you are saying. She said as they walked down the side walk, the leaves shook in the slight breeze. Her eyes caught movement. Something was moving towards them. Low to the ground and small, with a weird shuffle, swaying side to side. she stopped in her tracks, arms tightening around Kali's arm. What the heck is that? Oh god no! Don't move.... The fluffy skunk made its way towards the two girls, not even noticing them. Until it was a few feet from them. It stopped and stiffened its body, it gave a lurched with its tail and raised it above its head, high, threatening. If that thing sprays....back away slowly....too fast....slowly. Jo was now trying not to laugh..this was a great walk home. Some night. Hopefully it will end it a happy way....smelling good.

Kali shook her head, "I know about protection." Even if she was against premarital love-making, she wasn't blind to the options. "But if Ryan really loves me, he'd wait. I can understand if he gets impatient and tired of waiting, but if he loves me, he'd respect my wishes, which he is wonderful at doing." A smile crossed her lips, thinking of him. "But if he wants to leave me just because I won't have sex with him, let him. If he does that then he never really loved me. But I think he does love me, Jo, and I love him."
Her eyebrows raised as the little black creature tumbled into their path. Kali suppressed a laugh and began to back up, eyes lowered. "We caught him by surprise." she whispered, "All he wants is some space and a little respect."

Jo squeezed Kali's arm, biting her lip trying not to laugh, any noise might set him off. I always heard they have bad eyesight..but they make great pets. She chuckled, slowly backing away. She watched the skunk, twisting this way and that, trying to find exactly where they were, and which way was the best way to point his...tail. Jo inched towards the left, to slowly go around him. You know, that would be a good talisman to have, no one would want to bother you. Including the Hunters.
They were finally clear. Jo began to walk at a normal speed, heading home. She thought about Kali's words and ignored the tinge of jealousy. Im sure he does. Seems you both have a good thing going. So there is no need to worry or feel pressured. Have you guys talked about it? She looked sideways at the girl, wonder in her eyes.

Kali laughed once the skunk had gone. That was kind of amusing, getting around him. "It might be a great talisman," she said thoughtfully, "But, everyone would always be afraid of you. And in fear they would want you gone. Try to exterminate you, get you off their property. You know, with guns and traps and stuff." she shrugged. "So maybe not."
Then she listened to Jo again. Kali didn't really feel worried or pressured, did she? Not really. She was worried, though, if Ryan might get mad if she ever refused him. She didn't want to hurt his feelings or make him feel not good enough, because that definitely wasn't the case. She just wanted to be married before she got intimate. She was worried that if she denied Ryan, he might leave her. Kali didn't want that. He was a very good friend to her, and more. She really did love him. A twinge of a smile crossed her face as she remembered the leopard. The jealousy. She definitely cared for Ryan.
"Have we ever talked about it?" Kali repeated Jo's question, as if trying to get it to register in her mind. She had been thinking about the white feline. "Umm... well, not really, I guess. That night after you left I told him I didn't like him undoing my bra, and that he didn't have my permission, etc, etc." She paused, thinking. "But no... I don't think we've ever specifically spoken about sex. Maybe I should talk to him..." she said, more thinking aloud than anything else. "What do you think?"

Jo shrugged her shoulders as they walked, closing in on their homes. I may not have a lot of experience dating, although im not a virgin. But All I do know, is guy want it. Period. They think more with a part of their body then they do with their brain. No matter how sweat the guy is. He may be able to hold out hun, be i dont know for how long. Then again, he could be the exception to the rule. But why not? Talk to him. See what happens. She pulled an elastic out of her bag and pulled her hair up into a ponytail. Man it was late and she was tired. A nice soft bed would be perfect right now, especially if there was a guy in it. Ryan know any single guys? Any ex-hunters? She laughed, the sound echoeing thorugh the darkness. It was eery and it made Jo shut her mouth very fast. She wished she was young and innocent, and didnt know what went bump in the night.

Kali nodded. Ryan thought with is brain. So she wanted to believe, anyway. Maybe both, but that was still more than she could say for any other man. But talking to him wouldn't hurt. She just wondered how she would get onto that topic. Kali shrugged. She'd find a way.
"I don't think so, Jo. The Hunters don't like that he's gone. His own mother is sending people out after him." Kali told her. And Jo's laugh was spooky, but Kali couldn't help but laugh herself when she shut her mouth. And then it was her turn to be quiet. Both their laughs sounded weird, echoing like that. "I don't like this place." she said. It was close to her home, yes. But ever since the brick, she had been scared to come here. "Be careful when you go home." she warned her friend.

Jo could see her house only a few blocks away at this moment. She walked in silence for a few steps, taking deep breaths of the cool night air. Her house was getting closer and closer and when she was only aobut 20 feet away she stopped and turned to Kali. Well that was an eventful night out huh? Lets not do this for a while. I think i can handle without drunk people yelling, insulting then fighting. But maybe we can do night in? Like movie and dinner? Jocelyn smiled at her friend. She also had to get together with her and Ryan and some other Innocents to get another plan going against the Hunters. But that could wait until another night. Night Kali. See ya later.
