The night was dark in the forest, and the cool, eerie mist was floating among the trees. The air was cold, and surprisingly eager to bite at any living creature that possessed some kind of warmth. In the trees, with her long tail hanging over a branch and her four legs dangling above the forest floor, was Kali. She had her chin rested upon the thick branch, and let loose a sigh that could have told the entire world how she was feeling. She missed Ryan. She hadn't seen him in ages, and was actually wondering how he was doing. She pulled her tail closer to her body, wrapping it around herself. She wondered if he was alright. Being with the Hunters and all... she didn't want to think of what could have happened to him. She hadn't expected her heart to ache for him this much, but it did. She thought of those handsome eyes, and it brought a smile to her face. He laughed a little when she remembered that goofy hyena grin. Her happiness faded when she thought of his strong muscles and soft voice. A frown appeared over her lips when she remembered his wonderful personality. She missed him terribly.

Ryan had snuck out of the mansion for the first time tonight. He had been trying to sneak out for weeks now and had failed to. But he needed to see Kali. He walked into the woods heading in the direction of her house, he grunted as the bruises on his body rubbed against his shirt. The Hunters were making sure that he stayed loyal. But little did they know that a beating a few times a week wasnt going to keep him away from Kali. His face was black and blue, with a swollen lip. God her reaction when she saw him, he could only guess. He kept walking in the dark, almost stumbling over him trying to get to her house quicker. Little did her know that he was headed right towards her, and was going to pass right under her.

The hair on the back of her neck stood up when she smelled him, her nostrils flared in disbelief. Could it really be him? Her feline body crouched low against the tree limb, her eyes flashing through the darkness in search. A smile crossed her lips that she could not keep off, no matter how badly she wanted to. She didn't want to get her hopes up. But his scent was unmistakable, and Kali purred as she leapt from the high tree. "RYAN!" she roared, though it was only a simple growl to human ears. She raced towards him, her front paws pinning against his shoulders. But she didn't want to knock him over. Her blue eyes sparked with happiness now, she didn't hesitate to kiss his cheek. Then she paused, and transformed back into her human self. Her cheeks were red with embarrassment, though hidden by the darkness. She hadn't kissed him before. "I missed you." she said quietly. She bit her lip as she saw his lip in the moonlight, and the bruises, which she prayed were only shadows. But she knew better. They were too dark to be such shadows. Concern twitched her entire expression, but she kept quiet, willing to give him a chance first to tell her.

Ryan head the steps of paws racing towards him, he smiled when he saw the puma, and smiled even more when it phased into his deer Kali. He wrapped his arms around her, not wanting to ever let go. He leaned his head down, against her soft hair, breathing in her scent. I have missed you too. He let out a soft chuckle, so glad to be in her presence again. He leaned back and looked over her face, her perfect face. Im sorry I havent been able to get out sooner. I tried, but man are those Hunters tricky. I hope you have been well in my absence? He reached forward, taking her hand into his, and bringing it to his lips, planted a soft kiss on the back of her hand. He rubbed her hand with his fingers, as if it were the most precious of jewels. his thoughts moved to the Hunters and what they would do if the knew he snuck out to see her. He closed his eyes to rid his mind of the thoughts, only caring to think of Kali.

She buried her head against his chest, taking in the fact that he was truly here with her. Then she looked up at him, into those eyes that she had longed to gaze upon for the longest age. The woman shook her head, "I'm fine, I'm fine." she told him. "But what's happened to you?" she inquired, unable to keep the question behind her tongue any longer. Her fingers brushed gently over his face, barely touching his black and blue skin. They met with his mouth, and she had to resist from kissing his lips. Never before had she truly felt the urge to kiss him. Not like this at least. She had wanted to take things so slow, but the little spark had grown into a flame in his absence. "What have they done to you?"

Ryan reached up and pulled her hand away from his face in a gently manner, holding onto her soft fingers, he brought his hand to his chest, and in doing so, put her own hand against his beating heart. Well, they could kind of figure out I was not totally loyal to them. So they took it upon themselves to beat me several times a week, to shrink my desires to return to you. They kept me locked up so I couldnt escape even if I wanted to, weeks passed before I finally saw an opening. I took it. And, well, here I am. He left a soft quiet chuckle escape his lips. Man its good to be out of that depressing cage. He smiled, the light in her eyes almost erasing his bruises and wounds. He stepped to the side, putting his arms around her shoulders and slowly started walking towards her house. So why is a young lady like yourself out in these dark mysterious woods? Alone? He turned his head so he could look into her eyes as they walked.

She could feel his heart, strong and beating against her hand. It gave her reassurance, but still she would worry. It was her fault that he was like this. Her fault. Somehow, someway, the Hunters must have found out about her. She frowned. "I'm not letting you go back." she told him. "If I have to duct-tape you to the wall, you're not going back." Kali smiled only when his voice touched her ears again, a sound that she savored now. "I was just moping." she answered. "Missing you. That's all." She put her arm around his side, sticking to him like glue. He wasn't going anywhere if she could help it. "Let's get you back home. I'll take care of your bruises."

Ryan raised his eyebrows at her determined words, he gave her a sly look, teasing. You know I could break the duct tape, but I wouldnt. Not if it would hurt you to see me go. He walked next to her, matching strides and when she mentioned going home...he stopped and looked at her. Home? My...'home' is the mansion. Are you meaning to say...I have a new home? His insides burned from her words, he loved the idea of having a new home, and her home none the least. But of course he would never push if she felt it was moving too fast. He could always live them for a short time while he found a new place to live. An apartment maybe. She gave her another playful smile and turned to keep walking, slowly seeing the lights of the streets up ahead. His stomach did a small somersault when the thought of being inside her house struck him, he couldnt wait to be sitting on the couch next to her, relaxed and not having to fear anything or anyone, not always having to be on his toes.

Kali shook her head again. Her blue eyes flicked over his bruises sadly, and then met with his eyes. "That mansion isn't your home anymore." she told him. Her lips parted in a happy grin when she saw the expressions on his face. "You're living with me now." she told him sternly, as if he didn't have a say in it. But her voice didn't match her face. She was smiling, enjoying every moment that she was at his side. She waited a while, watching the ground pass beneath her feet, before looking up at him again. Her mind was busy, wondering many things. It had been her fault that he had been beaten, just for being with him. What if they found out that he was actually living with her? She didn't want to know. "You wouldn't mind if I killed a few, if they came sneaking around?" she asked him. If the Hunters dare come near him again, they would have to go through her.

Ryan laughed and smiled at her and the thought of living with her. He would thrive in her constant company. So when I wake up in the morning you'll have breakfast in bed ready for me then? Then massage my shoulders after a hard days work, and dinner on the table at 6 every night when I come home from work? And I call you deer and honey? He teased her giving her a playful squeeze with his arm. He looked up and spotted her doorstep only a few feet away, man time moved fast when he was with her. He couldnt wait to get inside, he really needed a hot shower to wash all the grim away. The thought of her taking the shower with him caused him to laugh quietly again, and stir in his belly. That would be a thought to keep to himself....

"Very funny." she said sarcastically. Her eyes glanced up, finding her house not too far away. She took the key from her pocket as they came up the walkway, and unlocked the door to let them in. She turned on the lights and kicked off her shoes, shaking the mud and dirt off of them outside. "Go ahead and take off your shoes and make yourself at home." she told him. "My house is your house, now." Kali smiled and closed the door behind him and locked it before stepping into the kitchen to find some ice in the freezer and a bowl of warm water and a towel. She put a few drops of peppermint oil in the water and let it mix. The nanny at the orphanage had always done that to the water whenever Kali would have bruises from the other kids picking on her.

Ryan followed her up the steps and into her house, which he copied her and took of his shoes, making sure that he got no dirt on her floor. He watched her go to the kitchen and get some supplies for him at which he had to smile. He took a breath and looked around, it looked the same as it had several weeks before, if anything maybe a little cleaner. He guessed it was to keep herself busy and not to think about him, or to worry too much. He followed her in the kitchen, standing behind her and on an impulse, he took the cloth from her hand, put it on the counter, turned her body to face him and placing both his hands on either side of her face, kissed her gently on the lips. He held his lips there just for a moment, savoring her smell, taste and feel. He pulled back, his chocolate eyes darkening, deepening and searching her face for an emotion, making sure he hadnt gone too far. He kept his hands on her cheeks only a moment longer before letting them drop to his sides limply. Sorry. Impulse. And if you slap me for going to far, well, it was so worth it. He smiled at her playfully, taking another step back and leaning his slim hips on her counter top, allowing her to go about freely with what she was doing before.

Her eyes grew wide as he gave her the kiss that she had been trying to hold back from giving him. But she didn't reject it. She smiled at him when he pulled away to let her resume her work. She picked up the towel, but instead of setting it with the other things on the table, she put it around his neck and pulled both ends closer to her, by so doing pulling his face closer to hers. And she kissed him softly on his swollen lips, careful not to hurt him. Then she pulled away. "Sorry." she said slyly. "Impulse." Kali turned her face away from him, hiding a smile and holding in a giggle. She couldn't believe that she had just done that. It was like him to do something of that manner, but for her to do it was completely unlike her. She sat down at the table, and tapped the seat next to her for him to sit.

Ryan's heart skipped a beat then exploded in a series of faster beats, he could feel it throbbing in his chest. He shook his head and licked his lips with his tong, wetting them. you are so lucky im an injured man, with a bruised lip. Otherwise, id have to punish you for that... He set out a small hint of kissing her back, and maybe doing other things, but didnt go into details. He walked over and sat down on the chair, leaning back so she could get to his bruises that lined his side and chest. He lifted his shirt, revealing a tightly packed stomach, all muscle, blotted with black and blues. Nice piece of art isnt it? He said looking up at her and watching her work.

"You wouldn't punish me." she winked at him, picking up the bag of ice. She frowned as she saw his wounds, and pressed the cold ice against them gently, holding them there. "Your stomach, yes. The bruises I could do without." she told him. He did have a handsome set of muscles, but they were tainted by his wounds. Carefully, she pulled him down so that he was laying in her lap. She could see him better this way. Kali combed her fingers through his hair as she moved the ice from wound to wound. "How did you get these?" she asked him, wondering what exactly the Hunters had done to Ryan as punishment.
