The sound of nails clicking on the hard pavement echoed into the dog's ears. He looked around, his vision a hundred times better than it had been for a few days. He had finally gotten away from his mother long enough to turn into what the Spirits had wanted him to be for so long.
He sighed as he padded along, his tail wagging a hundred miles an hour. As he padded along he looked for people, but saw no one. He would have frowned, if he was in his other body, but instead he titled his head. The day was wonderful, a bit cool, but with a sweatshirt on, or a thick pelt it felt wonderful.
The dog turned off the pavement and started to lope toward the little pond. He loved swimming, and the sun was warm enough to dry his pelt off after he got out of the pond. The husky barked and ran full speed into the cold water.

Jocelyn had been in her cat form stalking and playing with the chipmunks, her white silky body, one blue and one green eye hidden in the bushes. Her tail twitching left and right, eyes dilated with the thrill of hunting. Bu suddenly a flash of movement caught her attention, she saw a dog running down the field and into the water. Her eyes watched him for a minute before she decided to crawl out from under the bushes. She slowly walked closer to him, curious to what it was, was it a real dog, or a talisman. If it was a talisman she wanted to figure out who, an innocent that she could ask to join her force to take down the hunter, or was it a hunter? She had to know, and until she found out who it was, she was gonna play it out as if she was a plain normal cat. She walked over and meowed, trying to get its attention, but she kept near a tree just for a way to protect herself if she needed to.

The dog splashed around in the pond, sending water flying up onto his pelt and onto the dry sand on the shore. He jumped-hopped around in the shallow water before he made his way to where his paws could not touch the slimey sand beneath. He began to paddle, his paws sending him toward the middle of the small pond.
After a few minutes of swimming he came back to where his pawes could touch. He panted a little and as his breathing calmed a sound came to his pricked ears. He turned his gaze quickly toward the tree that was near the pond. For a moment he thought the tree had made the sound, but then his eyes saw the cat under neath.
He growled and then bolted out of the water. His paws slipped on the sand, and he almost fell on his face, but he kept his blance and ran toward the cat. His growl had stopped when he was half way to the feline, and a huge doggy grin was on his face. He yipped like an excited puppy and stopped just before he ran the cat over.

Jocelyn was not sure what to do, would it attack, or play or stop short, but just in case she arched her back and hissed to let the dog know she was not to be messed with. Jo relaxed a little when she saw the dog stop, she eyed him cautiously and took a step or two back. She meowed again, trying to see from the way he acted if he was a human in animal form or a true dog. She ducked behind the tree and popped out on the other side of the trunk. She meowed again. She swished her tail this way and that way, cute dog, husky. she thought to herself. She hopped forward and playfully gave the dog a bat on his nose with her claws retracted so she didnt scratch him. She waited to see what he would do. C'mon, show me who, or what you are. she thought again.

The dog watched as the cat hid behind the tree. He titled his head, instead of raising an eyebrow. He sat down, waiting to see what the cat would do. His black and white pelt dripped from the swim in the pond. He watched as the cat came out from behind the tree and he watched the cat's tail move back and forth. He seemed to grin as he watched the cat.
When the animal came up and batted his nose he sneezed, for a moment he thought he was going to transform back into a human, but he held his figure. He sighed and said to the feline, "Man, that was way too close. Please don't bat my nose." He didn't know if the cat would understand his human talk or not.

Jo jumped when the dog sneezed, but turned totally stunned when it spoke, so it was a human! She laughed and yelled out Ah ha! Oops. she thought, she was still planning on keeping her true cat identity. But oh well, she messed that up pretty fast. She leaned back on her haunches and looked at the dog. So...who are you? I havent see you around before.. She lifted her chin as if she was sizing the dog up, trying to figure out who it...or as it seems he, was. She would need to then find out if he wanted to join her little force to take down the Hunters. Usually only people who want to take action against the Hunters were people that had lost someone to their evil.

The dog titled his head when he heard the cat speak. So the feline was like him too! He jumped up from his sitting position and let out a loud, excited yelp. "I finally found someone who's like me!" He cried out to the world, but to any human that was listening, it would only sound like a dog going nuts.
He locked eyes with the cat, and dipped his head to her. "I am Matthew. I moved here a few weeks ago, but haven't been out much. My mother doesn't let me out of the house, and she scared that I'll reveal that I am a dog, as well as a human." He sucked in a cool breath of air after he had spoken all of that with one breath. "Who are you?" He asked the feline in front of his still wet paws.

Jo smiled. I'm Jocelyn, I've been living here for a few months. She decided to just come out and say it, I'm one of the descendants of the man with the first talisman, do you know that legend? I have the ability to manipulate the Earth's elements. She paused not knowing what else to do, but decided to go on, even though he was a stranger, she felt it was ok to tell him. I have been tracking down some of the Hunters, a lot live around here, in that big mansion on the hill. My family has been doing it for years, track them down and kill them. So that's what I'm doing and I got 2 other girls helping me out. She cocked her head sideways to see what he said, maybe he wanted to help, maybe not, it was dangerous work and involved killing people, even though they were bad people it was still killing. And they could ever get killed.

The male's head titled to the side as he listened to the feline talk. He had heard the legend of the man with the first talisman, but he wasn't sure if he believed it or not. He knew that the Indians had given him this power, but it was kind of hard to wrap his brain around.
For a moment he didn't answer the feline because he didn't know if he should join her. He dipped his head and then said, "I will join you, but I'm not sure that I will be able to kill anyone. My beliefs don't allow killing." He stopped there and waited for the cat to answer him.

The white cat nodded its small fine head. You can try to avoid killing all you want. I appreciate your efforts and your willingness to join. But I am warning you, it is dangerous and the Hunters WILL try to kill you, so you may be left to no choice. I just thought you should know. With that she looked around the gardens and seeing no one close, she turned back into her human form. She was a taller girl of 20yrs old, light auburn haird and green eyes. She could almost look like an irish girl. She sat at the base of the trees with her legs crossed looking at the husky, wondering if he would transform into his human form. We have a secret meeting place to discuss such matters about the Hunters. Before I tell you where it is, I really need to know if you are a true innocent, or will at least never become a Hunter. I cannot put the other girls in danger unless they do it willingly.

Matthew watched as the feline transformed into her humanself. He gasped, but as a human now the female would only hear him yelp. He took a step back, his fur still dripping wet. He had listened to the female speak to him, and he was worried that he would have to kill someone. He sighed and then dipped his head.
With the dip of his head he turned back into a human. His light brown hair dripped water into his face, and his blue eyes locked onto her's. "I hope this proves I'm on your side. Unless you have a different idea of how to prove I'm with you." He told her.

Jo, seeing his true form helped reassure her. he was young though, younger than she thought. I believe you. But know I'm not forcing you to join, it is your choice, although it will be helpful. She placed her hands on her legs, crossing them gently and looking at him with her clear green eyes. She wanted to give him time to think of it. You don't have to make up your mind now. You can always find me around town and let me know what you have decided upon. But please be careful, for there are a lot of Hunters around here. he raised her head a little almost like a mother eying her trouble making child.

Matthew didn't like the way she was eyeing him. He rolled his blue orbs and then stood up, sense he had been sitting on the ground. His jeans were a little wet, but other than that, and his hair, he was dry. He locked eyes with the woman before him once more and began to speak.
"I know a way I can help you." He leaned in closer to her so that if there was any Hunters around they wouldn't hear. "I could track down the Hunters, and you and your friends could kill them." He grinned before he took a step back and waited for what she would say to that.

Jo for a split second was uneasy with him leaning in so close, but when he offered help, she nodded in agreement. That could work, that way it will give me more time to do other research and what not, and to plan what we are actually gonna do to get rid of them. I could use that. The more she thought about it the more it made sense to her, he hated to kill but he could track them down, no one is really gonna look at a dog wandering down the street, and he could give them the info about where they lived, what their habits were and any other info that would be helpful.

The teen grinned then looked about him. The trees were changing color, and the air was crisp. He knew that fall was finally here, but he also knew that when he jumped into the ice-cold water just moments before. He looked back to the woman and smiled a little.
"Could you show me this "secret hiding spot" now?" He asked her. He looked around them, wondering if any of the Hunters he was going to be tacking down were around, listening in on their conversation. Goosebumps rose on his skin when he thought of that. He hoped no Hunter was around.
