Kali scowled at the drunk little woman at the bar, watching with no amusement as she broke into laughter that could only be alcohol. Kali looked at the newcomer, and then back at the original three that were in her company, Jo, Aras, and Ofelia. Deciding at last that whatever the drunk woman said to the manager, or anyone else for that matter, wouldn't mean very much considering her drunken state, Kali snapped at her again. Her words were far more harsh and profane than she usually would have used, and maybe didn't make a whole lot of sense, but the fact that they were insulting was the main thing. After that, Kali didn't care what it really meant. No one did, so close to midnight. And she had been working all day. "Watch it, you drunken little whore." she growled, her upper lip shaking, as a cougar's does before it crouches and attacks. "I wouldn't be talking if I were you. You're lucky you've got this guy here to save your ass. Hell, you wouldn't be hard to take down at all. I could blindfold you with dental floss if I wanted!" a small joke, referring to Ofelia's narrowed eyes, "You're so damned light, we could probably tie you up with the stuff, too. Just roll you into that crowd and let the drunks do with you as they please." Kali looked about, selecting a few of the rougher looking men around the bar. "You'd be surprised what kind of people you meet, working here. I'm sure any number of my 'friends' would love to keep you as a pet. You'd make a good replacement for a chihuahua. You've got the little yappy voice, the tiny, weak body, and the obnoxious and confident attitude. All you're missing is the fish eyes!" Kali smirked, thinking of those goldfish at the petshop whose eyes bulged from their faces. Then it was her turn to laugh. Ofelia really did look like a chihuahua. She laughed a little harder, and said something incredibly childish and stupid. "Chihuahua whore!" This only made her laugh more. Kali wasn't drunk, so it had to be the lack of sleep that she was getting. But again, nothing really mattered when all others were drunk so close to midnight.
Then she looked at Jo to answer her question. "Yeah, I should get off in about ten minutes or so. We can leave then."

Jo's jaw dropped as she stood there listening to Kali rant and rave to the girl. She had never known Kali to say things on that..level before. Jocelyn nearly dropped to her knees from laughter, her body shook from trying so hard to keep it in, but of course it didn't work. She finally hushed her laughing, but had to wipe a tear away from her cheek. She by now, didn't remember what the mean girl had said about her, something about being so desperate. She didn't care anymore. She looked at the new girl and had to stop an eye roll. Another one. Great. She didn't feel like getting more shit from someone else. It ruined her night a bit...just a bit. She looked back at Kali and gave her a smile. Feel better now that you got some things off your chest? Probably like a months worth of frustrations, out in one night. We should go out more often. Jo laughed lightly and only flicked an eye to the man. She could figure out by now that he was single, but his company didn't help. She really didn't want to be with a guy that had friends like this. She would hate to have to deal with the girl more then once.
Jo plopped down off the stool and turned her back to the asian women and their guy friend. She eyed a few other men sitting around the bar, unfortunately a fat older gentlemen caught her eyes and smiled a toothy grin back. She grimaced but tried to look again at the cuter guy next to mr. fat toothy grin. She hesitated than shook her shoulders. Give up. She did.

Aurelia's expression must have been priceless. It was an odd mix of shock and confusion, both at Ofelia's apparent intoxication and the bartender's... Racial slurs, to say the least. When Ofelia motioned for her to sit down next to her 'drinking buddy', Aras, she slowly lowered herself down onto the seat. A quick glance around told her that Reyes had yet to arrive, and she sort of wanted to get out of this sweatbox and the tension as quickly as possible.
"What brings you here tonight? I'd tell you why I'm here, but I can't seem to recall at the moment."
Yeah, badly drunk. Aurelia wondered for a moment how Ofelia would be able to get home before dismissing the thought; it was none of her concern. What was her concern was how she would get out of here with her sanity intact.
"I need to meet a friend of mine," She replied. "I owe him something big, so he wanted to speak to me."
However, knowing Reyes, he'd probably just ask her to buy him a drink and be done with it. He wasn't one to ask much of anybody, though he would bug her about it until the day she died, surely. Aurelia took a deep breath to calm herself and nearly choked on it. As it got later, people were getting more and more intoxicated. Having a small space full of raving, drunk people was not favourable and Oceana was beginning to smell bad.
"Hey guys, is it just me or is this place starting to smell sort of like sweat and dirty handlebars?" She decided to breath through her mouth for the next bit, except for the fact that she started tasting it. Either way, it was gross.
Looking through their alcohol selection, she found that, though there were one or two unique vodkas on the shelf, the rest was just generic stuff. There wasn't a single good bar in this town because most people seemed to drink rum and coke or the likes. Whatever, she'd buy her own stuff and put up with it for now.

Although he was not on the receiving end of the bartender's diatribe, Aras was quite taken aback by its arrant pettiness, not to mention the base, racist remarks. Kali, assuming an animalistic snarl, looked ready for a fight; Ofelia's menacing scowl signified that she was as well. He exchanged a look with Aurelia, whose irked visage told him all he needed to know, and unobtrusively got to his feet. It would be wise to leave.
Ofelia's eyes had narrowed, her smirk replaced by a contemptuous sneer. "Drunken? Brilliant deduction. Perhaps you weren't as much of a half-wit as I originally thought. Or perhaps you are, since you seem to misundertand the definition of the word 'whore' - your friend is much more jiàn than I am." She set down her glass, not taking her eyes off of Kali. "And yes, I'm small, but at least I'm no dà xiàng--what was that in English? Elephant," she said with a very pointed look at the bartender.
A hand enclosed her wrist in a firm grip and hauled her into a standing position. "We've got to go. Sorry for the trouble," Aras said hurriedly. Though you certainly didn't help matters., he added silently. If this was how the bartender usually treated her customers, he was surprised she hadn't yet been mobbed by a crowd of displeased drunks.
The thought came too soon. Before he got the chance to drag Ofelia away from the bar, she twisted out of his hold and let fly her fist in Kali's direction.

Kali's snarl grew, revealing only human teeth. Give her a second, though, and a shadow, and they'd be as sharp as any. She ignored the woman until she spoke of Jo. Kali didn't know what a 'jiàn' was, but using other provided information, she assumed it meant whore. "Don't you talk about Jo like that." she spat, by now striding out from behind the bar angrily. Her shift was over, she had no more obligation to behave. She stood tall over the smaller woman, looking down at her. She smirked as the eyes narrowed. "Can you even do that? I didn't know that they got any narrower. Can you see-" WHAM! The fist met with her face. Kali stepped back a few steps, shocked. Her cheek throbbed painfully where the hand had come, but she was too tired to care. Kali took a moment to recollect that the manager wasn't here this night. Nor was anyone else who might have authority over her. Rick was behind the bar, but he'd keep quiet. The guards were outside the door, whom didn't know her. She came in through the kitchen entrance always. She took off her shoes and set them on the bar. "Bad mistake." she growled. She was overtired, cranky, protective of Jo, and now, she was pissed off. She only wanted one punch to satisfy her. Maybe two, to get even. One for Jo and one for her. Her fist flew.

Jo had by now jumped out of the way. She may be the 'elder' of the innocents, and strive to stop the hunters in their tracks, but this type of fight, was not her. Then again, she had said some mean things. Jo slipped her leg out, slipping behind Ofelia and waited for it to trip her. She wasn't one for a true hand to hand fight, her style was more slip something into their drink and watch from a distant as they die. Hence her small house cat talisman...not much of a fighter. As Jocelyn waited it seemed that she wasn't going to trip over her leg, so Jo reached out and grabbed the girls shirt, pulling her backwards and, well, forcing her to trip over her leg. Only for a split second did Jo hope she didn't hit her head on a bar stool when she went down....well, maybe. Jo looked at Kali, then looked at the other two around the girl, waiting to see if they were really going to get involved. If they did, Jo might have to become a true fighter over night. Then again, now with the adrenaline and the alcohol in her system, then entire bar might become a brawl.
Jo squared her shoulders and looked at Ofelia, eyes only glancing at the others. She was ready, for anything. If only Ryan was here to back them up, seeing as they were outnumbered if the others joined in. Maybe she just needed another drink, so if she got punched she wouldnt be able to feel it as much as she would if she were sober. You won't get fired from this right Kali? If she said no, then Jo was ready to pounce. After all, she did have some nasty claws that could hook into the skin and tear it away. And they were small, easily hidden. Jo hissed at them, her eyes slowly shifting to her one blue eye and one green eye...the cats eyes.

Right now, Aurelia really wanted nothing more then to go home and smash her head against the wall repeatedly. What had she done to deserve this? What sort of horrible thing had she done in a past life that could have lead up to this? It must have been nothing any short of genocide, surely.
“Hey, Arthur, right? Was it Arthur?” She looked over her shoulder at Ofelia’s companion. Aurelia wasn’t good with names that weren’t Vietnamese, go figure. Sometimes she even forgot her own English name, except for the fact that people kept saying it. “Listen, I know we’ve known each other for the whole of three seconds, but you want to get out of here before we die?”
The woman tripped Ofelia, and shit hit the fan. There was a shout from farther inside the building, and a thud as somebody was punched to the ground. People began to shriek and throw kicks and punches. Aurelia just stood there a moment, contemplating the idea of leaving Ofelia and her friend to their own devices. The situation was getting way over her head, and at this rate, she wouldn’t be able to have any decent conversation with Reyes. She picked up her phone and dialed his number.
“Hey, listen it’s… Yeah, it’s me… A bar fight, I don’t think-- Uh-huh, I know. Yeah, sure, I think I might-- Okay, later.” She hung up; that was one problem solved. Now there was the even bigger problem of getting out of the cramped space.

Ofelia herself was surprised when her knuckles met the taller girl's cheekbone. In peak condition, she struck with the startling speed of a serpent; however, her current intoxicated state could hardly be described as 'peak.' The bartender must have the reaction speed of a dairy cow if she could not avoid a fist thrown by a drunkard. "Huh. If you can't even dodge that, then you're the one with all bark and no b--" She was cut short by two simultaneous occurrences. One, Kali decided to retaliate; two, someone jerked Ofelia backwards by her shirt and, with a well-placed foot, sent her sprawling. On the bright side, Ofelia thought sardonically as she pulled herself upright with the help of a bar stool, whoever had tripped her had saved her a black eye. Through her alcohol-induced fog, she noted that the extraneous screaming and thudding from further inside the club meant that theirs wasn't the only fight that Oceana was going to see tonight. With no indication of any misgivings whatsoever, she threw herself at Kali once more. *** The moment Ofelia's fist connected with the bartender's face, Aras knew that everything was heading for hell in a handbasket. His prediction was merely confirmed when a thud and a shattering of glass preceded some general mayhem. “Hey, Arthur, right? Was it Arthur?" Ofelia's friend (acquaintance?) was talking to him, with a 'why me?' expression he suspected mirrored his own. "Listen, I know we’ve known each other for the whole of three seconds, but you want to get out of here before we die?”"Aras," he corrected automatically. "And that sounds like a plan, but..." He glanced over at Ofelia, who was pulling herself to her feet, clearly ready for another go at the bartender. The other girl - the one who had tripped Ofelia - had her lip curled in a feral hiss, highly reminiscent of a riled cat. Probably a feline talisman of some sort. She, too, looked ready to join the melee. "I hate to ask this of you, but can you help me get her out of here?" Aras asked, and before Aurelia had time to respond, strode forward and hooked an arm around Ofelia's waist, stopping her just out of the bartender's reach. A movement in the corner of his eye told him that Aurelia had stepped in to help; with their combined effort, they began to haul the struggling woman out of the club.

Kali ignored Jo's question. She didn't want to think about getting fired, though the odds were in her favor. She smirked as Ofelia was sent sprawling, and went after her when the man and the other girl tried to remove her from the bar. One. Two. Two punches. Two punches met with something, be it a table, a bar stool, or some other customer, she didn't know. She only hoped it was Ofelia, and a snarl crossed over her face. She looked around the nightclub, frowning at all the ruckus. Kali took hold of Jo to help support her, lest she fall, and guided her from the place. "We weren't here..." she said slowly, slyly. No one would know. Most were too drunk to remember.
When they were safely outside, Kali looked around for the trio of trouble. She didn't see them, and hoped to keep it that way. Even if she didn't get the two punches, fighting in the streets would be more dangerous than any old bar. "You okay, Jo?" asked the girl, wondering how far Ofelia's words had gotten to her friend.

Jo was now laughing hard as Kali tugged her out of the bar. She tripped over her foot once before she regained balance and looked around. Many people were leaving the bar, and many had cuts, bruises and tussled hair from getting into, well, someone's fight. Jocelyn looked down at her clothes, rinkled, a small tear and even a spot of someone's blood, though not hers. Her eyes had returned normal, but were dilated form the disaster. Wow! That was my first bar fight! And I was just going to join in when you pulled me out. I guess I should be thankful.
She took a few steps around in the air, breathing deep trying to calm her nerves. She couldn't believe that happened, and over what? One girl got drunk, and then got mean, which got everyone pissed off. She stopped walking and placed her hands firmly on her hips, she turned her head this way and that and saw the man that she had given her number too. He looked irritated, to say the least, and from what she could see at this distance, in the dark, with 2 drinks in her, he looked a bit mad.
I do wish it went better in there. Wish I could have a night o' fun with him. She stopped and starred at Kali, shocked at what came out of her mouth. Her jaw dropped for the second time that night, and then she burst out laughing. Oh deer. Im not generally that, you know, raunchy. I think its the alcohol. Or the lack of sex I have had in, well, forever. Most likely the booze. Oh god, I think I should go home. And sleep.
She took another step and again calmed herself from laughing. Kali had a strong arm, but so did the smaller girl, if they hadn't been separated, she didn't know who would have won. She tried not to think about it.

“Aras. Right.” Aurelia nodded. Congratulations, I will not remember that. She faltered for a moment when he asked her to help him get Ofelia out of the bar, weighing the options. At last she gave in and, with a frustrated grunt, grabbed the woman and with a combined effort began to drag her out of the bar. The place was breaking out into general chaos, but nearly nobody would remember by morning and it wasn’t anything unexpected from a small, crowded place filled with drunk people. The fresh air was a welcome relief, and the night was mercifully clear. If they had stepped out and got rained on, Aurelia would have likely dropped everything and gone home… Or Reyes’ house, since she didn’t really have one of her own. Which reminded her, she made a mental note to stop letting Reyes pick places to meet. How the heck did he find a place like Oceana anyways? An awkward silence enveloped them as she looked up and down the street. Didn’t know where Ofelia lived, but she had a sneaking suspicion the walk would be riddled with more awkward silences. Another deep sigh before she heard voices coming from the side of the building; great, the bartender and the other girl, from what she could hear. “You need help bringing her home?” Aurelia gave a half turn of her head so she was looking at Aras from the corner of her eyes. In her mind, she was hoping he would say no so she could get out of there, but she asked just to be courteous. Her Komodo huffed at her and said something along the lines of ‘why do people offer things but don’t mean it?’ Aurelia simply shrugged in response; psychology wasn’t her thing. Aras', Ofelia's and Aurelia's continuation.

In some ways, he was thankful for the escalating chaos--namely, because they were able to sneak out amidst the general mayhem with relatively little mishap. At any rate, they got out alive, even if it meant a couple of well-timed dodges and the occasional projectile grazing his ear. Somewhere between the bar and the door, Ofelia seemed to realize that getting out would probably be in her best interest and had stopped writhing. Or maybe she'd fallen into a drunken stupor, but neither Aras nor Aurelia could be bothered to check until they were safely outside. Although he had not been the one drowning himself in alcohol, the sudden draft of cold air still delivered something of a shock to his system, snapping him awake and sharpening his senses. It apparently had the same sort of effect on Ofelia, who grumbled something half-intelligible about how they could stop (ow) dragging her along (ow) the asphalt now (ow). They helped her up so that she stood between the two of them, clinging to both just in case nausea decided to set in. Aras visibly tensed when two indistinct but all-too-familiar voices drifted over to them, but Ofelia was too busy with the effort of remaining upright to notice. He couldn't make out what was being said, though he figured he probably didn't want to know. “You need help bringing her home?” the other Asian girl spoke up, not looking particularly keen on the idea. Truthfully, neither was he, but the idea of a sober Ofelia out for his blood was far less appealing. "Yes. Please." If by some cruel trick of fortune they somehow met up with the bartender and her friend again--Murphy's law did have the infuriating habit of coming into play at the most inconvenient of times--he did not want to be without some backup, so to speak. There was also the fact that he was almost desperate for the company of someone sane, and this woman seemed to be the only one who could keep her wits about her. A tilt of his head indicated the direction in which they were to proceed. They had only taken a few steps when Aras realized that he had no idea who the woman helping him was. "I never got your name," he said quietly, not wishing to draw any more unwanted attention to themselves. ((Aras', Ofelia's and Aurelia's continuation.))

Kali's eyes went wide. "Jo!" she exclaimed, though didn't say anything more. She shivered. Gross. At least before marriage, it was. Kali laughed, trying to hide her little outburst. She flicked Jocelyn in the nose, but not hard. "Down, kitty." she giggled, trying to make it seem light-hearted.
Her eyes looked ahead to the three up the street. "What a trio." she muttered to herself. "Hope we don't run into them again."
"Sorry you didn't find the right guy, Jo." she said, not able to bare the silence of the night. Kali didn't really like walking down the dark streets, though she had grown used to it. It still bothered her. "I'm sure you'll find him. Or maybe he'll find you." She spoke hopefully, trying to strike optimism into her friend.

Jocelyn laughed at Kali's shocked expression, putting a hand on her shoulder and leaned in to her, whispering in her ear, What? It is fun you know. Even before marriage. And in my opinion, Ryan is the best one to loose it to, so you two may not get married, so snatch that opportunity up. she released Kali's shoulder and turned to head home when Kali made a comment about some trio. She turned back around to see the drunken, rude girl trying her hardest to not fall over. And the other girl, and the guy, wondering what to do. Jo smiled when she could see that neither one of them were clearly having fun having to deal with...that mess.
It was an eventful night, but I am sure glad, that, is not someone who I have to deal with on a regular basis. And I think I have had enough fun for one night. I think kicking Hunters ass's is more my thing, then a night out at the bar. She reached over and linker her arm through Kali's, bending it at the elbow. she slowly started home, no rush, for the night was fresh. Cold, but clear, with the bright stars shinning their way through the sky, the crispness hinting at the coming snow and harshness of winter.
I heard we are supposed to get snow in a few days. You believe that? Man, the seasons go by fast where you are busy with life. She let out a deep breath and tilted her head back to look at the stars and wonder at the moon.

Kali's jaw dropped and she looked at Jocelyn, even more shocked than before. "Good God, Jo!" she exclaimed, then hushed her voice to a whisper. They didn't need anyone else around hearing. "What happens if you get pregnant and you're not married and the man leaves? I don't want to be that girl." she said quietly. "I don't care how fun it is. If it's so fun, I only want to share that fun with someone I really love. My husband." Kali looked away, wondering for a moment. "Ryan and I are falling in love," she told her. "But we've only really been on a few dates. We're still learning about each other. Or at least I am. If he really loves me down the road, he'll ask me to marry him. If he really loves me, he'd wait." Kali shook her head. What was she talking about, marriage. And was she implying that she'd say yes? No... it was just a hypothetical thing that she spoke of. And yet, Kali shrugged her shoulders. She hadn't set her mind to saying no, either. She shook her head a third time. She shouldn't be thinking about such things.
