Appearance: Melissa has brown hair that's been sunstreaked with blonde. Her layered bangs often hide her intelligent brown-green eyes from view, but she still manages to see everything and more. She's a little taller than average for a girl, but her build is all muscle. She's slim but still curvy and she's as athletic as she looks.
Personality: Melissa's the meaning of the word innocent. She's very intuitive when it comes to feelings about people, because of her talisman. She trusts these "readings" completely because they've already saved her life once. Melissa has a caring personality and will take in someone less fortunate than she. She has a big heart and wants to make friends with everyone she meets, though she's usually too shy to talk to anyone.

Being the oldest sister in her family has made her self-empowered and independant. Melissa knows how to take care of herself and she almost always follows her instincts. Though she doesn't trust herself (or anyone else for that matter) she really wants to be able to trust someone

History:Melissa is an only child with a set of divorced parents. While her father remarried almost immediately after the divorce, her mother remained single and happy that way. They got divorced when she was 16, and it wasn't really that big of a shock for her. Melissa had felt for a while that their family was breaking up, but her sisters had remained clueless until the very end. They decided to live with their father and his new wife, Janine. Melissa and Janine hate each other, and the first time they fought Melissa's father had taken the other side. Everything went downhill from there with her father.

Melissa and her new step-mother didn't get along at all, so she stayed with her mother. They even got to go on vacation together, with just the two of them, to Africa! Melissa had liked seeing all the different animals, but she loved the cheetahs the most. Maybe that's why her talisman's a cheetah.

Everything was going fine with Melissa and her mother until her mother got cancer. They finally were able to sit down and talk about her maternal grandparents and that's when Melissa's mom told her about the talismans. While Melissa's dad, and any children he would have with her step-mother wouldn't get talismans, Melissa would. Her mother warned her not to share this secret with anyone, which is why Melissa rarely shifts close to humans. Before Melissa could really accept what her mother was saying, her mother had died. Refusing to live with her father, and Janine, Melissa took off less than a week after her mother's funeral. Now she is looking to find herself and someone to help her understand what has just happened to her life.
