On The Outside:
Reyes had brown, semi-longish hair that's always in a mess, probably because he never brushes it anyways. To fix that, he more often then not wears the back in a slight ponytail. There are usualy streaks of colour in his hair, any colour will do; he always streaks it according to how he feels at the moment. His skin is slightly tanned all the time and he has a serious, though friendly looking face.
Reyes is rather muscular because of all the sports he does, especially Kendo, Archery and Thai Kickboxing. Despite of the demand for discipline in the sports that he does, he always has a smile on his face.
As for what he wears, anything goes. Whatever he feels comfortable in he’ll wear, but mostly it’s the kind of ‘casual Asian wear’, or so it’s called, which means mostly; zip-up hoodies with jackets over top, trench coats, designed shirts, flat shoes, ripped out jeans, mesh shirts, etc… He also likes some jewelry like necklaces or bracelets, but he never overdoes it. He also likes to wear high collared, casual-formal looking shirts and ties.
Reyes is very tall, at 6 foot 2, so he tends to tower above most people. This gives him an intimidating look, but he really is a friendly guy.
On The Inside:
Reyes is lovable and sociable and likes to make people laugh and simply enjoy themselves. He is easy going, laid-back and exceptionally tolerant, and sometimes considered lazy... But for the people who really know him, he's mostly insane with a few cups of crazy, total spaz and hyper nut-job. He was taught patience and discipline at a very young age through Kendo, Archery and Thai Kickboxing, which he is now a master at. Reyes is also very artistic and loves to paint and draw, though he’s a bit shy about his work and won’t show it to just anybody. He also likes music and knows how to play the acoustic guitar and the tenor saxophone. He is positive in most situations, though if something goes extremely wrong he becomes exceedingly straight-faced and somber. This could mean he has two sides of him; the laid-back Reyes and the serious Reyes.
He tends to keep a poker face but often smiles and be very pleasant and agreeable, preferably with no plan and going with the flow. He can also be quite the romantic; able to speak in both Modern English and Shakespearian English and a thing for flowers and their meanings.
Reyes also always seems to just know. It always seems that upon first meeting he knows about you; knows what you want and what you fear and what you feel. Because Reyes just knows.
Another personality quark is that he’s truly, harshly honest. He will tell you like it is and won’t hesitate a moment, even if it might hurt your feelings. It’s not like he doesn’t care, he could actually be the most caring person you know, it’s just that he feels a person needs to be honest and truthful.
Most of all, however, he’s all about survival. He knows when he needs to fight and defend and knows when he needs to turn tail and book it. Reyes can survive months on end in the middle of nowhere because he just knows how, and will take care of anybody with him along the way. He likes to be around people and would start up a conversation with complete strangers easily if he wanted to. Reyes is just overall likeable.
~Tell me where you've been
History:
The young man started from humble beginnings; born Satoshi Ando in a small city called Nikaho in the Akita Province of Japan, the small city had a population of about 28,289 people which resulted in pretty close relationships among the people. When he was 5 he showed much interest in sports, especially Kendo, Archery and Thai Kickboxing. He went and trained at the local Dojo day after day, 7 days a week without a single day off. His determination was rewarded when he won multiple national and international competitions, getting to #1 in all three sports.
At age 15 he took on the name Reyes, unofficially of course, when he was working at the Shirase Arctic Memorial Museum to better deal tourists from other countries since they had a hard time pronouncing ‘Satoshi’.
As he grew older he accumulated many good friends and his bosses and sensei always praised him, saying he was a fine young man. As he grew older though, he began to see in his dreams a strange creature. When he drew idly in his pastime and wasn’t paying attention, the picture always became a large, shaggy horse-like creature with many huge horns and grayish-white fur. At first he thought they were just idle pictures of Kirins and Onis, but they seemed so alive on the page.
At last it did seem to come alive within him. One day he decided to go on a trip… A mountain climbing trip at Mount Fuji. But he lost his team when they passed through the forest at the base of the mountain; Aokigahara, eerily the second most popular suicide location and where poverty-stricken families used to abandon their young and very old. It is also said to be haunted by ghosts, demons and other creatures. He roamed and went into survival-mode for about two weeks before he was suddenly attacked by a cheetah, though at that time he thought it was a forest demon since he’d never seen a cheetah before. At that point his talisman awoke and he went off his rocker. The next thing he knew the cheetah’s face had been bashed in by one of his big hooves and it was dead. He had transformed into the thing in his drawings.
At that point, afraid and ashamed to go home and return to his parents and sensei with the things inside him, he fled the country without so much as a word. He hoped that they took him for dead. He traveled far and wide, learning as much as he could about Innocents and Hunters and the talismans and how everything worked. Mostly, he continued to struggle to control the wild beast that was part of him; The Caribou. He later found out that the thing that attacked him was in fact a Hunter that turned into a cheetah. At first he had initially thought of himself as an Innocent as his personality and disposition was of an Innocent, but as he did some research into his own family history he found out he himself was born a Hunter.
His great-great-great-great-great grandmother had been a Hunter Caribou, but other then here there were no other talismans in the family. The reason the Cheetah Hunter attacked him was because he emitted the aura of an Innocent, but by blood he was a Hunter.
Currently he can not control his Caribou side. When he turns into a Caribou he has little control over what he does, he barely even has control of when he turns into his talisman. Reyes is still struggling to tame that side of him and hopes that one day when he does get it under control he can return home to Japan, his family and his sensei.
A month before he went to travel he met a young man named Takeshi Nakamikado and they hit it off. Though the other was rather shy and reserved, he kept coming back to the bar he worked at to visit. At the end of the month, when he had to leave, he asked Takeshi if he wanted to go with him and he agreed readily.
They traveled most of Asia and soon hit Europe. While they were in France they hit some rocks in the relationship. Takeshi had taken on the name ‘Caleb’ to prevent confusion just like he did. Anyways, so while they were talking one day Reyes let it slip that he had a talisman since he figured that he could trust him enough. It didn’t go as well as planned because Caleb began to almost cry something about how he had a twin brother and he had killed him. The argument quickly escalated and Reyes left before it would turn violent. He stayed away for a week; during that time met up with a girl named Aurelia and, at first greatly disliking each other, quickly became good friends.
But also during that time he was contacted by the Yakuza, whom had found out about him and decided that they wanted him in. First they were just asking, but it quickly went up until they were threatening him and his family and friends. Things promptly got dangerous, situations getting worse and worse as the Yakuza decided to track him down. Effects only got worse when Caleb misunderstood his and Aurelia’s friendship and tried to kill her.
This time, with his life being ground up into little pieces, he got overly angry at Caleb. They made up afterwards, but Reyes decided that with the Yakuza after him that it would be safer for everybody he knew to just disappear. He knew that knowledge would be dangerous, so he decided not to tell anybody and vanish like he did with his life in Japan. One night he was there, the next morning it seemed as if he had never existed.
