On The Outside:
Takeshi ‘Caleb’ Nakamikado is an overall pretty average looking young man. He’s 5’9, which isn’t as tall as most guys, and an I-can-count-your-ribs skinny build. His hair is ruffled and, depending on light and views, can range from black to dark brown to brown with dirty blond or anywhere in between. However, the only thing that looks a little off about him is that he is sometimes fairly pallid, and occasionally to the point that he looks rather anemic. He looks pretty much like your average normal guy at the first few glances, but once you look at him for a few minutes you’ll notice he looks quite delicate. His lips, however, are the envy of most women because they’re naturally smooth and a nice pinkish colour and are said to be his best feature.
Caleb, for the most part, had always been in a frail state of health. He is often considered sickly and feeble, which makes him an easy target for most. He has heterochromia, which makes his left eye a pure black without a single speck of any other colour and his right eye a very dark but still identifiable grey. His skin is sometimes a sickly pale and sometimes just normal, though nearly perfect and smooth. This appearance is spoiled however by cuts, scratches, scars and bruises from his multiple abusive relationships. His heterochromia was actually caused by an injury from one of these relationships; both his eyes used to be pure black.
Be careful with him, his health and body are very delicate and even trivial illnesses like minor infections or a simple cold can quickly intensify and lead to harsh pain and even death if left unchecked within a few days. His hands and wrists are especially delicate. He has to be incredibly careful when handling his handgun, if he isn’t careful while he’s firing it he might end up breaking his fingers and even his wrists. However, this delicateness comes with a gentle touch that had sometimes been described as being able to ‘sooth the roughest of souls’.
Caleb often wears earrings, his favourit being a silver pair with a cross and chain hanging from it. He prefers clothing with a lot of pockets to conceal his ‘weapons’, or rather trickery items. His main weapon is the Kusarigama, a sickle on a metal chain with a heavy iron weight at the other end. The metal chain is often worn in multiple manners but commonly wound around his hips like a belt, with the Kama (sickle) hidden under his clothes and the iron weight tucked into the chain.
From most people’s visual perspectives, he is considered cute, though not handsome. He blushes a lot, especially when attention is on him or when people are looking at him, and offers not much more then a shy smile here and there.
On The Inside:
Caleb is quiet, rather emotional and almost excruciatingly shy. However, he is charming, endearing and rather adorable when he finally trusts you enough. He normally gets attached to only one or two people and nobody else, which sometimes makes him seem clingy. He barely ever speaks (sometimes people think he’s mute) and is rather meek and submissive towards other people and most situations. Being so shy and submissive he is often taken advantage of because he doesn’t speak out and is physically weak.
Nevertheless, Caleb makes up for his physical weakness and timidness with stunning intelligence and cunning. He is somewhat known for nearly pulling lethal weapons out of the air, or making dangerous weapons out of almost nothing. He designs and makes his own trickery items, since most of them are widely not considered weapons, though they are sought after by quite a few people. He uses only five ‘real weapons’, the rest of his arsenal are trickery items he had made himself.
Getting past his exterior shell is tough, but he really is a nice guy once he opens up to you (if ever). He only uses his trickery items or weapons when he becomes desperate, he really doesn’t like hurting anybody, even if that anybody is hell-bent on hurting him. When you do hurt him he is quick to forgive, but remember; he forgives but never forgets. Unless you have his heart in your hands, which only one person does, he will never open up to you again, even if it was an accident.
He likes to be close to people, but only a select one or two since he hates attention. Blushing is an automatic reaction in almost any situation for him. He’s truly a sweet and loving guy; you just have to get past that solid outer surface first. Good luck with that.

What Happened?:
Takeshi ‘Caleb’ Nakamikado was born in the booming city of Sendai in the Miyagi Province of Japan. His immune system was markedly not the best even early on in life, when he would get sick pretty often and minor cuts that got infected sometimes put him in the hospital and on antibiotics.
He was born into a high-class samurai clan, making him the direct descendent of one of the most powerful family of samurai there was. Despite this, not much was expected of him because he was so sickly and fragile most of the time. His parents nevertheless did not want to be scorned or any less powerful then the others in the clan, so they utilized his intelligence instead of physical strength. He was taught from a very young age in the arts of Kyudo, the Wakizashi, the Kusarigamajutsu, and Shuriken instead of the usual Katana, Naginata, Sai and Kanabo. As expected, his intelligence spawned multiple other ikasama, or trickery items like the Black Egg and the Fukibari that was used to his benefit when in a battle.
Also much worth mentioning, Caleb had a twin brother; Takaugi. The two brothers had always been very close, but both very different in many ways. Takaugi was born strong so was raised in the traditional samurai arts, though he often wasn’t considered as intelligent as his brother, but was still fairly bright. He was much more outgoing and not afraid to speak up, which made a big personality difference as well. They were often considered shadow opposites.
The two grew up like most other boys within a samurai clan, until their 16th birthday. His brother soon discovered his talisman, the swift Cheetah, while Caleb remained without a talisman. They had no idea where it came from or what to do, so it was kept a closely guarded secret for another year. When they turned 17, Takaugi decided that he would like to go traveling and Caleb, being in a bad state of health, was unable to accompany him, so he left alone.
He roamed Japan for about 7 or 8 months until he seemed to suddenly vanish. There were no more calls or letters to the family and not a single word on his whereabouts. The police soon found him however, or more so his body. They found him in Aokigahara with his head bashed in and some traces of silvery hair as evidence. They identified these hairs as belonging to a deer found in the North called Caribou, but they were impossible to find in Japan.
That’s when Caleb caught word of Hunters and Innocents, and when he did a more research, there was no doubt in his mind that his brother must have been hunting down an Innocent and gotten killed in the process. He swore to avenge his brother by slaughtering the one who killed him remorselessly. Two very important things happened the year he turned 18.
One: His own talisman showed itself, the Sika Deer, which wasn’t very much of a surprise since he seemed to fit the innocent, shy image of a deer perfectly.
Two: He fell passionately in love with a young man he met named Satoshi Ando, also known as Reyes.
They had initially met in Nagoya where Reyes was working as a bartender until the end of the month before he would leave the country. At first they only spoke a very small amount, Caleb’s bashfulness keeping him from saying much more then his name. A few days later he went back to the same bar with an odd urge to see the bartender again, even if it was just for a visit. He soon found himself visiting Reyes at least once a day, blushing at his commentary and flirts. It was one night that the bar was very busy and he had taken a few drinks did they decide that having a bit of fun in one of the back rooms wasn’t such a bad idea. He woke up in a nice hotel room with Reyes making breakfast and at that point he went from crush to head-over-heels.
At the end of the month his lover had to leave and Caleb, being loyal as he was, agreed to go with him. When they hit Europe he took on Caleb as a name because he got embarrassed when people horribly mangled ‘Takeshi’. Yet, when they went to France, they hit a snag that separated them.
In France Caleb found out about Reyes’ talisman; the Caribou. Once he put everything together, he realized that indisputably Reyes had been his brother’s murderer. Once he confronted him they got into an argument and Reyes went off to blow some steam. Caleb began to feel much regret over what happened and decided that he loved him anyways, so went out to search for him once he didn’t show for a few days. In the mean time, Reyes met a girl named Aurelia who was also traveling. They became good friends, but Caleb saw them together and mistook their connection. Long story short, Caleb tried to kill Aurelia but only hurt her pretty bad, which resulted in Reyes getting tremendously angry because he thought that Caleb didn’t trust him to be loyal and honest and would think he was the kind of person to cheat in a relationship.
Afterwards Caleb and Reyes appeared to make up, but the morning after Reyes seemed to have just disappeared. One night he was there, the next morning he was gone without any hint of where he went to. He never responded to panicked and pleading calls on his cellphone and looked as if he had disappeared off the face of the earth.
Distraught and traumatized by two disappearances of people he loved (his twin and Reyes), Caleb went through a series of abusive relationships. They could range anywhere from simply toying with his emotions to violent assault and abuse. He traveled for a while until he landed in Noatak and decided to stay for a little while.
