What's Your Cover?~
Appearance:
usually, cadi is clad in the more - colorful - "scene" part of clothing. she doesn't mind sticking out in the clothing part, she'll wear darker colors, though when she does, she'll usually spice it up with bright acessories or just keep it from "washing" her out too much. her shoes come in all sorts of styles, though her favorites are heels, they're comfortable, and with her never-ending feline grace and balance, they're quite easy to walk in. with a skirt, she'll wear leggins, mostly neon or printed of some sort. skirts are a good friend to her, though pants are just as nice when it gets cooler out. her shirts will vary everyday, sometimes more than just once a day, if she works out in the morning, she'll change later on.
past her clothing, torres holds true to her puerto rican heritage. granted, her mother's american and her father's full-fledged puerto rican, she has the tan skin all year-round, becoming dark in the summer and slightly less in the winter. most people have that, don't they? her features are smooth and gentle, despite her actual attitude towards the world. her jaw curves nice and smooth, and equipped with that are her high cheekbones, innocent-looking features, doe-eyes which are a lovely, brilliant blue. she, like her mother who has these eyes, take great pride in them. they're always a light, crystalline blue, except for when she shifts.
the 19-year-old measures at a good five-feet and eight-inches, giving her an advantage when it comes to running, her longer legs usually helping her. though, before she adjusted, they wouldn't help her, she'd stumble over herself, before her Talisman came to her. she has slight curves, though because of her thinner frame, laced lightly with muscles, she hardly has shape, though she isn't lacking in some areas. with gentle curves, though still thin, cadi is 5'8" at 130 pounds.
Personality: she's very...intuitive, was what her parents usually described her as. she likes to see the truth, and once she has it in her sights, she's always ready for it. cadi enjoys finding the solutions to problems, which is partially why she's so skilled in math and science wanting to go into forensic science when she gets older - hopefully. she's gentle though, and has a thoughtful side, a side that's quieter, but also very intellectual. she enjoys thinking, but also having her social life, her life revolving around family (having grown up with siblings), and friends.
most of the time, she'll be found learning something new, or just hanging out, finding something to do. she's loyal and protective to her siblings and family, though to friends, it's hard to gain her trust. it's like fragile china that's so easy to break once you've gained it. she's always ready to run or fight, since she was raised with plenty of siblings to back her up. otherwise, cadi enjoys everyday in life, and takes things casually. not too many things "ruffle" her feathers, her laid-back personality helps with that.
~Tell me where you've been
History:
WHAT WERE YOU THINKING ?!
Andrea Torres, happily married with five children from Javier Torres, her husband of 30 years, noticed their new real estate agent, James Redell. She had been raised in San Juan most of her life, since she was 15, unlike Javier who had lived there all his life, and they had decided when Josephina got to be about 7, they would move to the United States, since Javier had always been in the upper class, Andrea just in the middle. Though, Andrea was at home, tending to Josephina and José, respectively 1 and 3 at the time, she put them down for a nap when James came over to see how they were doing on things. Having been friends, Andrea and James talked, since the kids were at school and Javier was working, they soon slept toger when Javier was out of town.
Andrea, feeling ashamed for having cheated, the next day, Javier came home and told her, that he had been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. It had spread to his other organs, and the doctors were giving him about another year to live. Grief-stricken, Andrea sobs, and never told anyone about her affair with James, thankfully - she was half-American, so therefore, they blame that on Cadi's skin.
Andrea announced to Javier that she was pregnant - possibly with his children (they believed twins again) though she just said his children. They were thrilled, though Josephina was already two, Andrea was worried, as she eyed her 10-year-old daughter, Raquel, knowing she'd need her daughter's help, as well as her sons' help, Miguel and Luis who were 8 with their younger siblings.
At her 6-month check-up, the doctors were pleased to say she had twins, two little girls in there, though one was moderately smaller, she shouldn't worry too much.
About nine months later, Andrea gave birth.
YO HOMESLICE ?!
In the early morning on August 19th, 1991, Andrea Torres gave birth to Cadi Gracelyn-Adrianna Torres. She pushed for another one, but when the second, smaller infant came out, there was no heartbeat, it had been concluded that the twin had died in the womb before they were born. James, who had become a good friend to them by then, noticed Cadi shared his nose, and he immediately dismissed himself, promising Andrea in English (since Javier didn't know any English), that he'd return to her one day. Andrea almsot broke down, but the sight of her pink bundled daughter disrrupted her thoughts of her past-lover. Javier was thrilled to have another child (they were Catholic...so they don't believe in birth control, yo), and Josephina, held by Raquel, and José being with (yeah, he's like five at the time, or what-ever) the trouble twins, Luis and Miguel.
The doctors took Cadi away from Andrea for awhile, though that's when things started to get odd around the household. The kids were starting to sense the tension between parents, though Cadi as an infant was oblivious to everything. There were times where the children would talk together about what was going on.
HOT DAWG ?!
Cadi, as a toddler was loved by all her older siblings, especially her doting, caring mother. Though, after Javier died when Cadi was just a few months old, Andrea finally decided to move to the States. Getting their passports, she had Raquel, the Twins, José and Josephina not to use their abilities while on the plane. People outside of their family weren't as accepting as people in the States were. Reluctantly, the kids agreed, and Cadi was shipped to the States.
Needless to say, when they arrived in Texas, Andrea immediately began to plan for them to move back. The atmosphere was so different, cursing in Spanish, the only ones who knew English were herself, and Raquel and the Twins, since they spoke both languages at home. Cadi was three when they moved back to San Juan, and waiting on their doorstep, was James Redell, and he was prepared to marry the loveable, doting Andrea.
Of course, after the death of her first husband just over two years ago, Andrea did accept it, claiming to Raquel and the twins who had been hit hardest by Javier's death, that Javier would want her to be happy. Therefore, when Cadi was four, Andrea married James, and took on his last name.
FO SHOW ?!
By the time Cadi was five, she spoke Spanish more than English, since James really only knew some Spanish, she didn't talk to him too much as a young girl. She adored her younger siblings, who always took it upon themselves to keep an eye on her. Worried about her children's mental health, Andrea contacted her in-laws, Michelle and William, asking them if they themselves could help. Cadi though - didn't care about much as a young girl besides her friends, family and grades. Focusing on schoolwork, when she was seven, Josephina 9, they were still in elementary school together, along with José, the three youngest. Course, Cadi seven, Raquel was already 17, and planning to go to college in the States. She'd already been accepted into NYU, and Andrea, not wanting to lose her children, decided when Raquel moved, they would to.
Andrea never heard of the talismans, and Raquel soon mentioned to her mother that a rabbit had come to her in her dreams. That's when Andrea told them their past, their genetics most likely. Cadi adapted decently, though she missed the warmth of San Juan, and all the familiar surroundings, instead of this huge city. Raquel moved on, visiting them every weekend, before James then mentioned to Andrea, having noticed José's weird sayings.
Cadi relied heavily on her siblings when they moved. She hated the cooler, damper weather of this place, though thankfully she had Josephina and José to keep her company, since the Twins were almost out of high school and ready to go to college in Maryland.
Cadi didn't know what that meant - James - her father (so she thought at the time), wasn't like her. She asked, and he never really answered her. The 9-year-old fumed, though immediately regretted it when Andrea announced she was special, though she didn't say much more. Andrea mentioned to Raquel who was older and the Twins, her own was actually a cheetah for her personality.
WHAT UP DAWG ?!
Cadi matured some more, learning both English and Spanish in their town house, since Andrea home-schooled her till she went to elementary school in third grade. Josephina, Cadi and José would walk home everyday from school, and to school everyday together, conversing in their native tongue, Spanish. Most people didn't speak to them much, though Cadi didn't mind. She had her siblings, and she cared for them. Josephina got sick, and if Andrea couldn't tend to her (since she started to work from home), Cadi would take care of her, feeding her soup, making sure she was warm, and more.
FLIP DAT OVA ?!
When Cadi was 15, she matured early in physical ways as well a mental ones. She learned many things, besides cooking (she adores cooking, especially mexican dishes). Therefore, one night she dreamt, and a gorgeous lynx came to her in her dreams. The feline told her what she was, and that her talisman was a lynx, therefore, she was now an Innocent. Involved in a war that had started way before her time.
Afterwards, when she was 16, Andrea confided in her, telling her she thought she was old enough to know, she wasn't Javier's daughter, like she had been told sometimes. Javier had died shortly after Cadi was born (lies, though it was a few months), and James stepped in to be a father figure to the six children of Andrea. Though, when Cadi was told she wasn't Javier's, but James's, she flipped out. She immediately snarled, cat-like traits coming to play. How dare she lie to her all these years? Outraged, Cadi ran away for three days (during the summer, of course), and only returned when Luis found her.
Afterwards, she grew distant from her mother (though she does love her still), and even from James, giving him glares when-ever he looked at her. The young woman grew to dislike James, having had Andrea cheat on her loving husband of thirty or so years in marriage. Cadi does hold grudges well, and certainly won't let this one go for quite awhile.
HOT DIGGITY DAWG ?!
Now as a graduate, Cadi plans on probably going to an Ivy League school, since she's well-qualified, but also that her parents can afford half the tuition, therefore she's appliny for scholarships right now. Despite the fact she's an Undecided, and is still visited by her Talisman here and there in her dreams to help guide her, she still shifts plenty, getting her parents worried. She's just glad she doesn't live with them anymore, she owns her own place now, a lovely house that she keeps with her cat and two dogs. Usually Josphina stops by for a few days, as well as José living in the other guest room, since Cadi has a room specially for her two dogs and cat, who is her best friend when she's a lynx. Now though, Cadi isn't sure, she's an Undecided, though is wanting to pick a side, she just hasn't figured out which one yet.
