CunningWolf
Name: Yekaterina Pushkarova (prefers Katya, or to those close to her, Katenka)
Age: 19
Height: 5’2”
Gender: Female
Orientation: Straight
Status: Undecided
Picture:
Face Claim: Summer Glau
Appearance:
Slim and none too tall, Katya looks somewhat younger than her nineteen years. However, her small build belies her strength; she keeps herself well in shape. Her dark brown hair falls past her shoulders, and she usually lets it hang loose, paying it little mind besides a few cursory strokes of the hairbrush in the morning. Her eyes are an curious amber color, bordering on gold.
Her facial expressions are subtle, and for the most part, she’s rather difficult to read. To most, she seems a blank slate with flashes of emotion every now and again.
Personality:
Calm, straightforward, and professional, Katya can seem a bit distant to those who first meet her. She’s polite, but not much of a talker—she won’t usually initiate a conversation unless she feels she has something important to say. She prefers to keep a few close friends instead of a large circle of casual ones. Katya works well in groups, but she’s a follower and not a leader, more accustomed to obeying commands than giving them.
Intelligent and curious—but a bit naïve—she is eager to fill the gaps in her knowledge. She has high expectations for herself and does not take failure well. However, failure does not dull her determination; in fact, it makes her all the more driven to succeed. She isn’t afraid to question herself and thereby resolve internal conflicts.
Very committed to her duty, Katya will see to the end whatever she has set out to do. She possesses an unswerving loyalty; nothing in the world can turn her on those she loves and trusts. She shows no hesitation when it comes to putting herself in danger for her loved ones. Fearless in battle, Katya displays the most emotion when fighting. Relying on instinct instead of logic, she finds it easy to lose her self-control in combat. Without a cool head and restraining hand, she will blindly chase after her enemies with little thought for any possible consequences.
History:
Katya’s first memory is of Russian snows. Her childhood days weren’t spent sledding down soft white hills, however. They were spent hunting. She has no recollection of her parents; she was told that her father was killed by the Innocents even before she was born, and her mother died in childbirth. Raised a Hunter in a top-notch training program, she spent her days learning their trade, taught stealth, tracking, fighting, and above all, survival.
She discovered her talisman—a lynx—at an unusually early age. Not only did she have the advantage of her animal form, she possessed an innate talent that allowed her to excel. It was sometimes difficult to tell where the lynx ended and the girl began; in both forms, her reflexes were superb, her senses acute. She rose to the top of her class in no time, and her instructors—including the famous Anatoly Pushkarov—saw her potential.
In the years she spent under his guidance, she began to see Anatoly as the father figure she had never known. He treated her with a certain kindness that was unusual for the harsh environment in which she’d been raised. When it came time for his decision to leave the Hunters behind, she went with him without a complaint.
They eventually settled in Noatak, where Anatoly set up a medical practice. Adopting his last name, Katya was allowed to live a fairly normal life as his daughter. Though it became well-known that they were neutral—Hunter or Innocent, Anatoly treated anyone—they lived in relative peace.
Katya now works as her father’s assistant at the clinic.
