Ryan slowed his rocking down as Kali spoke, slowly letting the chair come to a stop. His eyes began to burn as he starred so intensely into the fire, as if it was forbidden. He took in her word and knew that she was right. He knew that only the same day they had officially declared them together, but in his mind they had been together for several weeks, even though he had be captive some of that time. She was different then the others, maybe that was what he loved about her so much. She wasn't afraid to say what she felt, she wasn't just going to go farther with a guy because he wanted it. And she wasn't afraid that if she stopped him that he wouldn't like her anymore, like most girls. He let out a breath slowly, letting his frustration go. He had no right to be mad, or irritated, whatever he was.
When he felt her hand in his, tugging him to stand up, he hesitated for only a moment before pulling his body all the way up to 6 feet. He looked down at, still gently holding her hand. He gave her hand a soft squeeze, another silent apology. His eyes seemed to have grow even darker, almost black, but they were soft. Maybe it was the light, who knew.
When she headed for the door he didn't know what she was doing, or what was on her mind. But he followed, out into the dark, out into the wild. The sounds engulfed him, the crickets, the owls and the distant howl of the wolves. The breeze tugged at his hair around his ears whispering encouraging words, tempting him into the dark. He closed his eyes, the hyena swishing his tail, ready to pounce.

Kali returned his squeeze, admiring his eyes as always. So pure they were, never clouded by terrible things. Handsome eyes. She stepped outside with him, her body changing as his did. Four paws and a long tail were granted to her, as well as the ears, fur, nose, and everything else. She gave him a playful glance, before taking off at a full run. Her paws moving beneath her swiftly, bounding though grass and over soft earth. She looked over her shoulder to Ryan, and, deciding that he might not see her if she made a quick move, sprang into a tree. Her eyes glowed as she looked at him, waiting. She would leap at him should he pass under the tree, but she still had to wait. She mewed to him softly, wondering how much of a distraction it would pose. Or a give-a-way.

Ryan shifted along with Kali, but when she took off he was left in the dust. Hyena's were not built for speed, but rather for endurance. They could do an easy lope for miles and never tire, which was how they ran their prey down, pure exhaustion. He loped through the woods, his eyes adjusting perfecting to the dark, his short tail twitching every so often. He could smell her trail darting every which way. If he knew her, and he did, he would bet anything she was planning something sneaky. He slowed his pace to an easy trot, keeping his eyes, ears and nose open for anything out of the ordinary. Her scent shifted. He paused, paw raised slightly off the ground getting ready to move should something occur. He took a few slow steps forward and heard a faint meow ahead of him. He moved forward, keeping his nose to her scent when suddenly her scent almost disappeared. He could still smell her, but there was no trail to follow. Which meant she either disappeared out of thin air, or went up, which cougars often did. Hyena's on the other hand, could not climb, so he took a few more steps forward, acting like he did not know where she went. He sniffed left and right, flicked an ear this way and that.

She watched with delight as his confusion became clearly visible. She waited, and waited, and waited, until he came a-walking under the tree. Then... There! Kali pounced from the branches, her front paws first (though claws hidden). Ryan's strong body in her sights, she let out a little laugh as she sailed straight over him, landing on the ground lightly and bounding off, running around him. Never stopping. So she encircled him playfully, wondering what he would do. She knew it was pointless, but she had only done it in hopes of seeing the astonishment and confusion, perhaps even a little bewilderment, on his furry face. He was cute when he didn't understand. But then she leapt at him in an attempt to take him down. Her jaws came for his face, as cougars often do to suffocate their prey. But instead, she licked his cheek and would not stop. Kali hoped that he might understand this nonunderstandable game that she had created. She let him go and fled, stopping a few feet away, front end lowered, tail flicking back and forth. A feline smile on her lips. She jumped up and back a few feet, taking the same position as she landed. Kali wanted to play.

Ryan hesitated as he sensed something around him change. Then from the corner of his eye he saw he heading right at him. He braced his body, expecting her to come flying into him for a tackle, but she sailed right over him instead. He stood there, turning his head to follow her as she pounced around him like a love sick yearling. His big toothy jaw spread open into what could only be described as a grin. He gave a playful grunt and a yip and started to jump around her too. His tail wagged and his tongue lolled out to the side, flopping this way and that with his movements.
When she jumped at him and began going into a licking frenzy he wiggled and squired playfully. He jumped back at her and playfully put his powerful jaws at her neck, a death hold, a playful death hold. He let go and leapt backward. He started to lope away from her, for he couldn't really sprint like her, so why try you know? It felt so good to get out, he felt free and de-stressed.

She purred in such a rhythm that could only be described as laughter. The cougar smiled as he held her in his jaws, and surreptitiously placed a paw around his, wishing to trip him. But he moved away too quickly, and the opportunity was lost.
Kali chased after him, quickly catching up with Ryan's lope. Giving him a little wink and a sly little smirk, she pounced high into the air, as if going to land upon his back. But she didn't, and only landed directly in front of him, cutting off his straight path. Her tail flicked, her throat purred, and she gave him a look as if to say 'There's no escape for you now'. Her eyes glimmered as she tried to sell her game, trying to put that fun little 'oh no' feeling into him. The feeling you get only when you're playing a game, but you realize that things are going to get fun. She jumped into the air again, this time truly aiming to land on top of him.

Ryan slammed on the brakes, pushing his body into the ground to slow him faster. Her flicked his own short tail and gave the signature hyena laugh, or cackle as he liked to call it. He knew he could not out run her, or out climb her. But what he had was shear strength and weight. He out weighed her, was very stocky and was VERY strong. But she was quicker. He would have to be a clever fellow. He gave a playful roll of his eyes, as if saying that she caught him. And he gave her the puppy dog look, slowly moving towards her. But she jumped again. He saw he flying towards the air at him. He braced his body waiting for the impact. He knew it wouldn't hurt, thanks to that strength of him. As soon as her body slammed into his, he twisted and spun and got her underneath him. He pinned her to the ground, as if going 'ha'. But then let her up and he began to jump at her, shoving her this way and that, but then he tackled her. He gave playful grunts and growls while he wrestled with her all over the ground.
But thats when he saw a pair of eyes looking at them through the darkness. But these eyes were unlike anything he had ever seen before. They were ice blue. And definitely cat-like. He jumped off Kali, made a noise letting her know play time was over. He looked at her, as if to say 'do you know what or who that it?'. The eyes moved, disappearing for a moment, before reappearing several feet to the left and a bit higher up off the ground. It was completely silent, and he knew it must be designed for stealth, for he was close enough to hear even the slightest sound of a paw hitting the ground.

Kali purred, though defeated, as he pinned her down. She quickly kissed his cheek when he let her up, before Ryan began to shove and tackle her. Try as she might, the cougar couldn't keep her footing, and she fell and tumbled with him, wrestling. She bit at his neck playfully as they rolled, Kali could barely keep her eyes straight. One moment Ryan was on top of her, the next she on top of him. She laughed and nipped at his paws, trying to hold him in one place for a second so she might get up and tackle him again.
But she sprang up when he yipped, clearly having spotted something. Moving closer to Ryan, she observed the eyes with him. They weren't small enough to be the eyes of a simple house cat. It had to be a larger feline, like Kali. She shook her head. She had never seen those eyes before. Would it be better to attack or wait? Kali could see fine in the darkness, but going anywhere alone wasn't a good idea. And she was still regaining her balance from the wrestling that made her dizzy. Whatever it was, it hid among the leaves.

Ryan let out a slow, deep growl, a warning for the eyes in the darkness. The eyes blinked back at him, clearly not phased but his growl. Ryan turned to look at Kali, but then when he moved his head back to the figure, it was only darkness. The eyes had vanished. What the heck was that? He said, turning his head left and right, searching the void for them. He flicked his tail and took a few steps forward, his nostrils flared, trying to catch a scent. He moved closed. The smell drifted into his nares, he hesitated. Feminine, and feline of that he was sure. A twig snapped behind him, he flinched and jumped around to face it. And there it stood. Just barely out of the darkness, but enough to see what it was.
A ghostly white snow leopard, with ice blue eyes starred back at them, her thick fluffy tail flicking left and right. She was shorter then Kali, but thicker and more packed. Her tail was longer then her body and very thick and bushy. Her paws were huge, bigger then his or Kali's, made for walking on top of the snow. He could see tufts of fur between each toe. No wonder why he couldnt hear her move. He gave a yip at it, not sure what else to do. He positioned his body more in front of Kali's, just in case.
The leopard sat on its haunches, just watching them, cocking its head to one side. As if it knew a hyena, was not only not from this land, but would never play with a cougar. There was intelligence in its eyes, a sense of knowledge. Ryan knew from there that this was a human in talisman form. What does she want, do you think? He asked Kali, still eying the feline.

"I don't know." she whispered back, moving from behind Ryan to stand in front of him. She knew it was female. She knew she had never met the cat before, either. In her cougar form, Kali felt more animal than human. Her ears went back along her head for a moment, her tail flicked, quick and sharp, and her lip curled only slightly. Ryan was hers. But then she gave a friendlier expression, ears forward, eyes softer, and walked away. If the feline wanted something from them, she would follow. Kali stepped close to the hyena, urging him to walk with her. Ears turned back, she listened for any sign of movement.

Ryan gave his thick 'mane' a shake when Kali moved in front of him. He didn't like it but he let it slide. He didn't say anything back to Kali, or to the leopard, but he gave the signature howl of the hyena. The long low 'woop' sound that peaked in tone near the end. He then gave a hyena cackle trying to get the leopard to do something..anything. When Kali turned to walk away he hesitated. But Kali was persistent and used her body to slowly push him onward. He gave one look back over his should before turning to wander off into the darkness.
The leopard only flicked an ear at Kali's aggressive behavior, it seemed to know that it was only a warning. She watched the two while they interacted, and again cocked her head to the side at Ryan's noises. The sound made her curious. She never has seen a hyena, after all. She gave a flick of her tail, an invitation. But the female cougar moved off. How rude! She thought. She rose from her haunches and took a few steps after them. She paused for a moment, ginormous paw raised a few inches off the ground. She gave a grunt and padded after them. But after a few steps, she got..well...bored? No. Antsy. Curious.
She pounced. She tackled the cougar from the back, taking it off guard. She wrapper her large paws around the puma's chest, letting gravity take her body to the ground, and pulling Kali with her. She jumped off the feline and landed next to the Hyena. She gave a soft seductive purr to him, before turning back to the female. You two make an interesting...couple. She said, in a smooth, sexy voice, no doubt a flirty cat.

Kali roared in surprise as she was hit by, no doubt, the leopard. Before she knew it she was on the ground, staring as the cat as it purred to Ryan. Kali leaped from the ground, only to land again with the white feline beneath her. Her paws pressed heavily against her shoulders, claws threatening to appear. She lowered her jaw close to the female's ear. "There are two things you should never separate a woman from." she growled, loud enough for any to hear her anger. "Her cubs, and her boyfriend." Kali's fangs bared sharply, close enough to bite into her throat if she so wished, but she didn't. She backed off, walking in a circle around Ryan before settling at his side, slightly forward, defense. Her tail flicked briskly. Annoyance. Ears flat. A dare. Her claws dug into the earth, the muscles of her paws tense. A threat.

Kayla felt the breath get shoved out of her lungs when her body was hit and pinned by the feline. Her eyes wide, she starred at the cougar and listened to her threat. She gave a thrill hiss just as Kali moved off of her, but before she was out of reach, Kayla let her thick tail smack kali in the face, not hard, but just enough. She rolled over and got to her feet, and raised her paw to her mouth and began to lick it, sliding it over her face after each lick, causally grooming herself. She paused in mid lick as Kali made the comment about the two things you never separate a woman from. But she continued licking and grooming. She had always had an easy disposition, letting things roll of her shoulder and not bothering. she put her paw to the ground and let her ice blue eyes wander between the two. So, out on a late night stroll hmm?
Ryan just watched. He knew Kali could handle herself, and he wasnt going to lie, he like to see her fight for him. Right when he thought it was going to get rough, Kali moved back to sit by his side. He looked between the two before answering the leopards question. Yes. Needed some fresh air. And yourself, caugin trouble no doubt.
Kayla just gave a gentle laugh and flashed him a flirty grin. Trouble, so I have been told, is my middle name.

Kali glared at the cat, still flustered. How dare she. Her lips would not lower, forever in a snarl, baring those sharp fangs that glistened in the moonlight. "We kill people who cause trouble." she spat, positioning herself a little closer to Ryan, slightly more ahead of him, if she wasn't already.
To say that she was angry would be a sore understatement. Kali was in rage. How dare this little witch. It wasn't fair. Kali never did that to anyone else. Would never dream of approaching someone's boyfriend like that. Why did she have to do it to her? It aroused a sense withing her, like protection or defense. She wanted to chase this girl away, and if she dared do anything more, maul her. "Watch it." she warned, her teeth forever barred.

Ryan cocked his large square hyena head at the cougar and gave her a toothy grin. Protecting your property? And then he leaned lower and closer to her, whispering in her ear. Lets wait on killing her until we find out what side she is on. I mean, look at those paws, now hod on here, let me finish, those paws are designed for stealth and we could use someone like that to sneak around. I didn't even hear her for the longest time. He gave her a sweat like on the side of her face and nuzzled his nose against her neck. He turned to the Leopard. Im Ryan, this is Kali. And you would be?
Kayla watched the two whisper and she only rolled her eyes and let her body plop down on the soft soil. She rolled over on her side, then flipper to her back , then back to her side. She gave a huff and jumped up back on her feet. I can hear what you are saying you know. She gave a small irritated hiss.
Ryan's eyes moved back to the white feline. And moved his rump higher to the ground, in a standing position. Even though it looked like he was crouching for Hyenas naturally have shorter back legs, like a German Shepard. So? What side then?
Kayla huffed and eyed them, flashing another grin. Don't you think if I was on the wrong side you two would be captured already? Or dead? Or I at least would have attacked? Come on now. Im innocent. She purposely didnt say the letter a..but as she said it, she tossed yet another flirty wink and smile towards the big hyena.
