Faith jumped on her skateboard, doing little tricks but nothing to complicated. Her mind was to occupied for that. The vision of the snake and how a part of her it had felt still lived in the for front of her mind. She could feel it move in her even when she wasn't dreaming. Like some internal strength she hadn't tapped into yet. "That's crazy," she mumbled to herself, grinding down the railing before landing back on the ground and continuing her skating. As much as she wanted to believe those words were true, something told her they weren't. It felt to real. To much a part of herself. Her true potential maybe?

It was a fine summer day; the sun was out and there was barely a cloud in the sky. Reyes was at the gardens that day, fiddling with his tenor sax and trying to make new sounds. People were used to having him around, and most people knew him in Noatak. He was the sunshine boy, the welcome wagon and everything in between.
He looked up when he heard the sound of wood against metal, just in time to see a woman running her skateboard down the railing. There were a few people in town that rode skateboards, mostly teenagers and the younger folk. Reyes preferred his motorcycle to a car or bike or even a skateboard.
But his attention wavered, and he looked back down at his tenor saxophone. There were a few sheets of music sitting in his case, and he pulled out Dana Point Overture. It sounded like something out of Pirates of the Caribbean, or pirate-y in general. He liked it, so he looked over the sheet of music in his hand.

Faith kicked flipped quickly and tumbled. Skinning her knees and elbows on the concrete, she hissed loudly. "OW!" she exclaimed, watching her skateboard roll down the hill. Shakily climbing to her feet, she chased after it hoping she could catch it. Seeing it roll towards a boy with a saxophone, who looked familiar, she waved at him, "Could you grab that?" Faith hoped he was not on of those people at the park who thought that since she skated she was a hooligan and deserved to lose her skateboard.

"Could you grab that?"
Reyes looked up again from his music, seeing the woman was on the ground. What had just happened had slipped his notice, but he could guess that she must've fallen off. She waved at him, and now he was sure she was talking to him.
He was quick to notice the skateboard rolling lazily towards him, and he simply stuck his foot out and stopped it. It looked fairly tattered, as if it had taken a lot of wear and tear. It might as well have, and Reyes only waited for the girl to come up to him. Her fall didn't look too bad, and hopefully she wasn't bleeding or anything.

Walking towards the saxophone player slowly, Faith bent down and picked up her skateboard and gave him a genuine smile, "Thank you so much! I don't know what I would've done if I'd lost this." Looking at him more closely, realization set in for the brunette, "You play here a lot don't you?" Hoping she was right, and not seeming stupid by mistaking him for someone else, Faith moved her skateboard so it rested between her arm and her side, "Because you look really familiar."

The woman took a bit of time getting there, but Reyes didn't mind. When she finally picked up her board, she gave him a slight look over before exclaiming that he must've played here a lot and that he looked familiar to her. Well, maybe, but she wasn't familiar to him at all. She might've been new in town or something.
"Maybe," Reyes nodded once at her, his usual smile still in place. "I play at a lot of places." He often was asked to perform at the Nine Muses Cafe, Uncle Sam's after he stopped working there as a cook, Oceana and quite a few other places. "You might've seen me around, it's a small town."

Faith nodded, "Probably," with a smile she stuck out her hand, "I'm Faith. Faith Chambers. Thought to be the resident hooligan. I'm pretty harmless." Laughing, she looked at his saxophone and back at him, "Do you mind if I sit and watch you play? I've kind of just been out skating on my own and it gets pretty lonely."
Her brothers, well the two who were still willing to see her, had gotten yelled out by her parents and other family members. And while they loved her they weren't big fans of confrontation. So it would probably be a good bit before she saw them. And they always said I should be more social.

"Hey," Reyes took the woman's hand and shook it firmly, that smile still on his face. A trademark, so to speak. "Nice to meet you. Faith's a nice name. I'm Reyes."
When she asked if she could sit and watch him play, he only shrugged again. It was noon-ish and he had gotten decent tips today, so he was pretty much done playing his little songs. "Eh, we can sit and talk, but I'm done with my busking today."
By now, he was sure that he had never seen this Faith Chambers girl before.

"I'm down for a good talk," Faith laughed, setting her skateboard on a flatter part of the ground and sitting on it, holding herself steady with her feet, "Reyes. That's a pretty name. IN a boy way. OH GOD! Sorry, I'm not used to meeting new people." Smiling sheepishly, this was one of the few moments she wished she had long, "I've kind of just been living in my apartment. IT's really home, school, work, repeat."

"Reyes. That's a pretty name. IN a boy way. OH GOD! Sorry, I'm not used to meeting new people." She offered him a bashful smile, and he returned it with his own. Her schedule sounded a bit dull, but then again, his got dull eventually too.
"Reyes means 'kings' in Spanish. I'm guessing Faith means, eh... Faith?" anther shrug as he placed his tenor back into neatly kept case with red velvet on the inside. "You new in town?" a pause as he realized 'New in Town' was a song, and he giggled to himself. He was feeling good today, so why not.

"In a way," Faith laughed, cocking her head, "I never really got out much before I got out on my own. Which is funny because I don't really get out much now." Shaking her head, Faith realized how dull she was making herself sound. You're worrying to much about what you say. It's not like you're going to tell him.

Faith said she didn’t get out much, and Reyes couldn’t imagine a life without getting out once in a while, if not every day. He felt the need to get out and do things, occupying his hands and his mind, mostly by playing music. Sometimes he’d hang out with Aurelia, other times he’d stalk Aras, as long as he did something. But each to their own, and if this woman didn’t like getting out, then he wouldn’t ask why.
“So,” a pause as he latched up the case of the tenor sax, his pride and joy. Reyes also played the acoustic guitar and the gravikord, but his saxophone was his favourit. “You board?” he nodded again towards her skateboard, a little tattered and worn from use. “I prefer a motorcycle myself.”
