The young girl walked down the sidewalk, her ten dollar bill in hand. She was looking for her favorite place to eat. As she walked down the sidewalk her mind wondered to her mother, and wondered if she was still alive if her mother would have dressed her as her father did. She wore a small black t-shirt, jeans and a gray hoodie. She smiled when her nose caught the sent of pizza. She looked up and saw the sign to her favorite place, opened the door and walked inside.

Alethea was eating her pizza with much relish when suddenly, a burst of warm air entered the shop as the door opened. The little bell hanging just at the top of the door tinkled with merry delight as yet another customer meant more money to earn. Still engrossed in listening to her mp3 while munching on her hawiian pizza, she barely took notice of the customer till she had finished the small piece she was holding.
Finished with her chewing and swallowing of that miniature piece she had pulled out of her pizza, she grabbed a small piece of tissue and wipped her fingers on them. Now, looking up, she set forth to learn more about this stranger who had interrupted her eating indirectly.
This girl, who appeared no more than ten or eleven, wore a smiliar shade to her own clothes. That was, nothing too colourful. She herself wore a black shirt with a striking yellow cat depicted in the middle, gray jeans and a jacket that was a pure white, for she treasured it dearly and always took care to keep it clean.
Looking about, Alethea soon realised that the pizza shop was fully occupied and that she herself had taken a four-seater table. This girl would have to seat with her if she were to eat in this shop. Going up to her, Alethea tapped her lightly on her shoulder. Feeling slightly awkward, she managed a small smile.
Hey there, I see the shop is fully packed. Why not share a seat with me?
Pointing to her seat, she smiled once again and sat down, coninuing to chew on her remaining two-thirds of a pizza. [/blockquote]

Maya looked around the small diner and saw that all of the tables were full. She sighed and looked down at her ten dollar bill. She was about to turn and leave when someone tapped her on the shoulder. She turned and saw a woman, older than she was. She smiled brightly and listened to what the woman had to say.
"Sure!" She exclaimed. She saw the open table and sat down at it. She also saw the half eaten pizza on the table and saw what was on it. She made a face before she saw a waitress and ordered a water and a small pizza.
She looked at the woman who had invited her to the table. "Thanks for letting me join you. I'm Maya...who are you?" She asked the nice young woman.

The teen knew that she had no aura nor skill that could draw people to her, but she soon saw the girl following her to the table. She seemed pleased and relieved and Alethea was happy that she could help someone. At least someone would be able to have a decent conversation with her.
Finishing up her pizza, she noticed the slight wince in the girl's facade. Quickly swallowing up everything and taking a huge sip of her bottle of coke, leaving behind a decent, uneaten piece of pizza to be enjoyed once the girl had gotten her order, she made sure she had cleared her mouth properly before she spoke.
"Thanks for letting me join you. I'm Maya...who are you?"
Alethea replied casually but not rudely.
You're welcome. My name is Alethea.
Returning to silence, Alethea smiled at Maya and continued to sip on her drink, feeling slightly weird and not knowing what to say. Hopefully, Maya would be more open and extrovert and she could provide the base of their topic. [/blockquote]

Maya stayed quite until her food came before she could thinking of anything to say to this teen to sat in front of her. She took a bite of her pizza and drank a sip of her water, then spoke. "So. I moved here four years ago. Father said that we needed to move here because I need to find something. I'm not sure what he has been talking about for the past four years..."
She mummbled the last few words, wondering if this teen knew what she had been talking about. She took another bite from her pizza slice and shifted on her seat, getting comfortable.

As Maya ate and drank in rather small amounts, Alethea waited patiently for her to clear her throat.
Find something? The town was so big. It could be anything from appliances to food to books to...
Hunters and other innocents.
For her, personally, she was a seeker with no idea who her animal totem was. This girl, who was seated before her, was still much younger than her, by at least four years.
Somehow, though, Alethea did not trust her gut feel. Proceeding carefully, she spoke.
And that would be....? [/blockquote]

Maya leaned closer to her new friend and told her what her father had been making her seek. "Father told me that he has this thing called a "talisman". He also said that I was going to get one, and that the Indians would call me a seeker 'cause I don't have my "talisman" yet."
She leaned back and took another bite of her pizza. She wondered if Alethea would know what she's talking about or not.

Leaning forward, Alethea listened carefully and nodded seriously. A seeker. She was one too, but she knew more on this than Maya, she guessed. Glancing around once, twice to make sure that no one was watching them, especially since anyone could be a hunter, she leaned backwards, smoothened out her shirt and pushed aside her pizza.
Keeping to a low tone, the teen replied.
I'm a seeker too. My brother told me a lot about innocents, seekers and hunters. I shall tell you the basics. Everyone has a talisman, an animal spirit to guide them along. Most would want to know their talisman, for not only would they have a constant companion, they would eventually be able to change, or shapeshift into that animal. Normally, your character would be similar to your animal spirit, or talisman.
Those who know their talisman are called innocents. Those, such as you and I, who are still searching for their own, are called seekers.
Taking a sip of her coke, she continued on, ending briefly.
There are bad guys in this world and some innocents want to have control over the other innocents, and manipulate them. These people are called hunters. And it's best we avoid them.
Deciding that this would take some time to sink in, Alethea gave a half-hearted smile and sank back into her seat, finishing up her last piece of pizza. [/blockquote]

Maya took a bite of her pizza as the teenager began to answer her question. She stopped chewing when the teen got more into explaining what Maya was looking for. She only swallowed when Alethea stopped and took a sip of her soda. Maya leaned forward and listened to what other things the girl had to say.
When the teen was done speaking Maya looked around the pizza place. She let her eyes be open to the people around her, but couldn't pick out anyone. A hunter or an innocent. She sighed and looked back to Alethea. "So, maybe we could find our talismans together." She whispered then took another bite of her pizza, her mind still on the Hunters.

Maya seemed a little disturbed by the time she had finished and caught her furtive glance around the shop. Smiling a little, she replied the girl kindly.
Well, we could go to the temple together. But more often than not, one's talisman would come to him or her in a dream. However, it is worth a try.
Finishing her coke, Alethea swept the few crumbs off her jeans. She had nothing on that day, she could very easily go with this girl, straightaway, if she wanted to.
I have some free time. Do you want to visit the ruins together with me? Or would you rather meet up some other time?
Reclining back into her seat, Alethea waited for Maya patiently. [/blockquote]

Maya chewed another bite of her pizza and saw that it was her last piece. She looked up when she heard Alethea speak to her once again. She blinked and then smiled, after she swallowed.
"I have nothing to today either. Father said I could go to town and do what-ever I wanted." She told the teen. Her father trusted her greatly and she would never disobey her father, and he had told her she could do what-ever she wanted. She place a ten dollar bill on the table, paying for her pizza, soda and the tip all in one. "I'm ready." She said, then stood, waiting for Alethea.

Alethea smiled as Maya replied. Good. Perhaps she would be able to get in touch with her talisman today. Thinking about it, she gave a shiver. Perhaps they would be successful, being two of them. Oh well. That would wait. She'd rather not get her hopes up too much. Many were seekers and they stayed that way. Standing up after the girl, she placed a light hand on Maya's shoulder.
Then lets get going now, shall we?
Smiling, she went to the door and opened it as a gentleman would, with one hand showing the way out for Maya. The wind blew in and her hair ruffled slightly with it, falling back into place a few seconds later.
OOC--i'll make the post, or do you want to do it? [/blockquote]
