Ryan drove up to the sidewalk and slowed the car to a stop. He looked over at Kali and saw that the bandanna around her head was still tied on tight. He smiled and said, Now, no peeking. I told you its a surprise. He got out of the car, handing his keys to the valet parking and walking around to open the door for Kali. He took her hand and helped her out like a gentleman.
Ryan had made reservations at the town's high-end fancy restaurant for he thought they needing a night out together. To get away from all the stuff that has happened to them lately. He held her hand and walked them inside. When he got to the desk to check in, he slid off her blindfold.
Ryan smiled at her and put his hand in the small of her back as he led her to a nice, secluded table for two in the corner. He was wearing a nice shirt and tie, with dress slacks which was his nicest and only nice outfit he had at the moment. He sat her down and took his own seat.

Kali smiled as they got out of the car, wondering what he had her get all dressed up for. She was curious, and this surprise intrigued her. "What is it?" she asked, unable to hide the happiness in her voice as he took her hand and walked. She was careful, stepping slowly. But she trusted Ryan, knowing she wouldn't crash into anything.
Then he took the blind fold off of her. Kali looked around, laughing a bit. "Wow." she said. "This is amazing." She kept close to her date as he led her to a table, still unable to stop smiling. "Wow." she said again. "Ryan, this is awesome." She wore a pretty black dress that came to her knees, even a little low-cut in the front. Around her neck was a pretty necklace with a cross on it, and her make up was put on carefully. Her long hair neatly combed, with a little blue bow in it. She didn't get this dressed up, even for Oceana. She sat down, watching as Ryan sat across from her. "Where did you come up with this?" she asked him. He was handsome as could be, with his tie around his neck and his nice shirt. It really finished him. He looked sharp.

Ryan placed his elbows on the table and laced his fingers together, smiling at her across the table. I always new there was a nice place here but never looked at it. A week or two ago I made reservations for I thought we just needed to get out and have another real date. You look...stunning by the way. He added.
The waitor came over and politly asked what they wanted to drink. Ryan looked at her, flashing a 'knock you ff your feet' smile and asked to see the wine list. The woman near fainted from the smile. Yes. He was that good. She battered her eyelashes and gave him a coy cute smile before going off to get the wine list. She returned shortly.
Would you like red or white? He asked Kali, knowing he would want to get a nice expensive bottle. He held the small menu and looked down the list picking out a few good ones of each kind, but letting her decide which one she wanted. Anything in particular?

Kali blushed a bit when he called her stunning. "Why thank you." she said. "You look pretty sharp yourself." she complimented. To be honest, she really couldn't take her eyes off of him. She was already so blown away just by the fact that they were actually in this restaurant. And he looked so handsome tonight, and he was such a gentlemen... she felt like a very lucky girl.
Red or white? Kali thought for a moment. She liked both, but red sounded better tonight. "Red, please." she answered. "And I don't mind what kind." She wasn't picky at all. She would like whatever he ordered.
"This was really sweet of you, Ryan." she told him, her eyes still surprised at everything. "Just... wow." she chuckled. "This was a great surprise."

Ryan winked at her, so happy he had swept her off her feet, so to speak. He looked around looking for their waitress and to find she wasn't far away, he barely had to move before she briskly walked over. She she spoke, she only looked at Ryan. He politly gave her their order of wine and turned back to his girlfriend. Its been a long time since I have to wear my nicest clothes. He said as he looked over the menu trying to figure out what he wanted. He saw a few things that looked good. But of course you had to read the entire description to know what it was for the names were fancy and seemed kinda french.
Ryan gazed at her from across the table and tried to remember how long ago they had met. He remembered the night perfectly, just not when. How long has it been since we met, do you remember? I feel like its been forever with this fighting, running and hiding. He hoped it didn't sound bad, like he just didn't care. He knew it was at least a month or two, but was it 3, or 4?

Kali closed her eyes, thinking. How long had it been? "It was before the winter." she told him. And winter was near its end. "Maybe four months?" she chuckled. Even she had a hard time remembering. Had it been five months already? No, it couldn't have been, could it? She supposed it didn't matter. It was just the beginning to what she hoped would be a long relationship.
She looked down at the menu, reading the descriptions, her eyes flitting over to the prices. Damn, this place was expensive. "What are you going to get?" she asked. She didn't want to order the cheapest thing on the menu, because he knew that he would catch her, but she wanted to order something less expensive than him. She didn't want to waste his money.

Ryan nodded his head, the memory coming back to him better now. He remembered making hot chocolate at her place, and how she had put a peppermint stick in it, which he thought odd, but after he tried it he liked it. He snapped out of his reminiscing when she spoke about the food. He looked back down at the menu and tried to find the thing that he wanted to get. I think I'm going to get the steak, it looks good. And lucky for Kali, she could pretty much get whatever else she wanted for the steak was one of the most expensive meals.
Just make sure you save room for dessert. He gave her a soft smile before saying. I have to run to the restroom I'll be right back. He stood up and placed his napkin on the table before turning to find the bathroom.
*5 minutes later*
He sat back down in the perfect timing for only a few seconds later the waitress came with their bottle of wine. She poured each one a glass and then she put the bottle in the center of the table, a bit closer to Kali. Ryan smiled like he was thinking of doing something mystevious. For what Kali had yet to see was a sparkling, diamond bracelet sitting around the neck of the wine bottle. He waited for her to notice, wondering how long it would take.

Kali looked over the menu again, thinking. The lamb looked pretty good, and it came with nice sides, though it was less expensive than the steak. So that was what she ordered. She waited for him to come back from the restroom, all the while thinking of what a perfect date this was turning out to be. He was making her feel like a princess, with the wine and the food, the way he dressed, the way she dressed, the atmosphere of the restaurant... it was all truly incredible. It was like she was dreaming.
And then he came back. She smiled at him, watching as he sat back down again, his napkin in his lap. And then the wine came. As soon as the waitress left, Kali raised her glass. "To my very charming boyfriend." she said, giving a flirty grin as she tapped her glass with his lightly and sipped from it. The wine was good, unlike any she'd ever had. They certainly didn't serve this at Oceana. She reached for the bottle to see what it was. Her fingers found it before her eyes did. Something delicate around the neck of the bottle. She opened her hand and gasped to see the pretty bracelet in her palm. It was perfect, beautiful and elegant. She looked up at Ryan with a look that wondered 'Is this for me?'

Ryan raised his glass as well and clinked it with hers and took a nice long, slow sip. His eyes twinkled as he waited for her to find it. Thank you. I didn't know you found me that charming. He said after her toast. He set his glass down carefully on the white table cloth, always careful not to spill it. And he again folded his arms on the table. Just as she reached for the bottle the waitress stopped by the table to drop a basket of bread and butter. She glanced at the bracelet smiled and walked off.
Ryan waited to get a bread roll until she found it. When he saw her eyes go wide he let a smile come forth on his face. The woman at the store said it was elegant enough to wear out, yet the design of the metal and stones made it casual enough to wear on other days. I just though it was pretty. I hope you like it.
He smiled again and went to take anothr sip of his wine, looking around wondering where the food was, for he was getting hungry. A nice steak, wine, a happy woman and he was content.

"I love it!" she exclaimed, smiling. She slipped it on her wrist, admiring it. "Thank you." she said, waiting until he set his glass down before leaning across the table to kiss him. She was careful not to knock anything over, and she didn't. She was used to leaning across a bar full of drinks to get to an empty glass.
Kali couldn't believe it. This whole night had been so perfect. She couldn't help but stare at him, wondering if he was enjoying this as much as she was. Admiring what a perfect man he was in everything that he did. He respected her, he surprised her, he treated her with extreme kindness, and he loved her. And for that, she looked at him with love and awe. How had she managed to find such a wonderful person? And in Oceana, of all places? I didn't. she reminded herself with a little smile. He found me. Why he had chosen her over all the other girls, Kali would never know. Only thank God that he had. "You're really something." she told him, "I don't know just what you are. I just know that you're wonderful."

Ryan beamed at her, so satisfied that she liked it. He was even more surprised when she rattled off how wonderful he was. He held up his hand, plam flat and up. Now wait a minute, lets not go over board here. I did it because I wanted to. Doesn't make me some sort of god. He let out a laugh just as their food came. The waitress put down the steak and then Kali's lamb. She glaned at the bracelet and gave thm both a smile, she leaned down and whispered in Kali's ear. Don't EVER lose that one. And left.
Ryan scrunched up his eyes and looked at Kali and the waitress, wondering what she had said. He slowly picked up a knife and fork and began cutting his steak, but still tossing curious glances at Kali.

"Not just the bracelet." she told him, smiling at his raised hand. "Just you. You're incredible. I didn't think such a man existed." Kali told him honestly.
Then the waitress came and whispered in her ear. Kali couldn't help but smile. "Oh, I won't." she whispered back. And she looked back at Ryan as she left, laughing a little at his glances. She thanked God for their meal and picked up her fork and knife, cutting a piece of the lamb and chewing it, savoring its flavor. They really did have spectacular food here. She could hear soft music playing from somewhere, not too far off. With a look over to her left, she could see a harpist and a violinist, playing a duet. She smiled and turned back to Ryan. "Would you like to know what she said?" she asked, catching yet another of his glances as she took a sip of wine.

Ryan blushed just slightly at her praise and compiments, thinking she might be going just over board, for he knew he wasn't perfect. A perfect guy wouldn't have let an innocent get killed in front of him. He shook his ehad getting rid of the thoughts. He chewed his steak and sipped his wine, thinking how good both tasted. It was an expensive place, but she deserved it. Plus he felt uncomfortable telling Kali he had saved up a pretty good amount over the years. After all, being a Hunter did pay well. It was the ONLY thing he missed about it.
When Kali asked if he wanted to know he gave her a goofy soft smile and threw up his hands. I'm not sure I do. Girl talk does not belong in my head. He knew girls for he did date many in his time. They acted like guys were the pervs and always bragging about sex. But to much of peoples surprise, girls talk and gossip about it more then guys did. They told their girlfriends everything, and he ment everything. So he had made a little pact with himself to stay out of that. He didn't really want to know how he kissed, what was good or bad...or anything else.
To try to get off that subject he flicked his head at the music in the far corner. Nice isn't it? He gave her a soft smile, his dark brown eyes locking onto hers.

Kali smiled to herself when he blushed a bit. She loved it when she could make him do that. But her compliments were genuine. He was a wonderful person that had simply been dealt the wrong hand. How could he be anything but? He had left the Hunters, afterall.
She grinned as he threw up his hands. It seemed she couldn't stop smiling. Everything he did made her smile tonight. She couldn't help it. "It wasn't girl talk." she told him, deciding to tell him anyway. "It was good advice." She poked her fork into the vegetables, trying something new on her plate. They were delicious, and she swallowed. "She told me not to lose you." Kali said. "Ever."
Then he nodded towards the music. "It's beautiful." she responded. Her stomach squirmed a bit when her eyes caught with his, but in a good way. His eyes sent her back to the first night they met, when he had looked at her like that for the first time, stirring his rum and coke. After a while of not knowing what to say, it was Kali who blushed a little. "What?"

Ryan looked up at her, and flicked his eyes towards the waitress, who gave him a slightly kind but flirty smile. He turned back to Kali. Ever huh? What if I get a big bear belly from old age? And loose my hair? He said jokingly while scooping up a bit of mashed potatoes. They were so creamy and smooth he had to do a small moan. Man this place is good.
Soon enough his plate was empty and he leaned back against his chair, still starring at Kali. When she blushed he gave her his little 'evil charming' smile. Nothing. You just look..raveshing. He added with a little animal-istic tone of voice. His eyes turned a bit fierce, but with passion. The waitress took his plate away and put down a desert menu. He picked it up and looked at it. See anything you want? He asked her, giving her a wink and a smile.
