Ryan shook his head, Nah, I'm used to it, It doesn't bother me at all. He paused and looked at her from the side of his eyes, Come on, lets keep walking. He held out his hand as an offer to see if she wanted to take it. He hoped that she wanted to, it would mean that he was breaking down that wall of hers. The breeze picked up and in the distance a wolf started to howl.
He started to walk further down the path until the trees suddenly stopped, opening up to a pretty large clearing. Here the moonlight sprayed all over the field, almost as if the sun was here helping it. A large boulder sat at the edge of the field and Ryan walked over to it. He climbed up within seconds, as easy as if it was smaller. He turned around and held out his hand once more to help Kali up.

"Alright." she said, her voice held the slightest hint of caution as he extended his hand to her. Before he had simply taken her hand, but now he was offering. What should she do? Kali stopped breathing for a moment, thinking. What would it mean if she took his hand? Would he take it as a symbol of her trust? She hoped not. Kali had only just met him, and didn't quite trust the man yet. But still, her small hand slipped into his larger one, and they walked silently. She could hear the wolf howl, and closed her eyes for a fraction of a moment. It was a pleasant howl, just off in the distance there. It was wonderful to hear such a sound, and apreciate the little, simple things. Like the stars. Kali watched as he climbed up the rock and offered her his hand. "I can do it, Ryan." she said, taking off her shoes. She hated wearing those shoes, and always it was the first thing when she got home was to take them off. But, seeing as she wasn't going home right away, Kali left them at the base of the boulder. Then she leapt onto the rock with ease, using her arms to help her climb up to the hight that Ryan was at. "See?" she said, smiling. Are you trying to impress him? A voice asked her inside her head. Maybe... she answered it, slyly. Well, that's not the way to impress boys. It told her. They like it when you let them help you. It always impressed Damian when I could do the things a boy could do. I'm not incapable. Kali thought. Damian was your friend, he'd have been impressed if you caught a tiny fish. And you were little. We were fourteen. Kali told it. And if he doesn't like the way I try to impress him, so what?

Ryan raised one eye brow when she bounded up the rock just as easily as he had done it. He smiled at her. Not a damsel in distress, I see. Good for you. But what if you had slipped? I could have caught you, save your life, then you would be in my dept. He teased her a little with a gentle laugh. He slowly lowered his body to the boulder and sat down, knees bent with his arms folded together resting on the tops of his knee caps. He looked into the woods, and looked all around him. Kali would take it as curiosity, or just loving being outside. But Ryan did it without thinking. It was his way to make sure there was no one around that could be dangerous. It was imprinted in him since birth, parents being Hunters and him being a Hunter.
He hadn't thought about him being a Hunter deeply since he had met Kali. But what if she was an innocent? Well, most people were innocents, doesnt mean they are fighting the Hunters, just means they are not Hunters. Kali could just be living her life normally, day by day. But what if she knew about Hunters, and what they did? Well, he just wouldnt tell her. He just hoped the Hunter wouldnt want Kali as a slave...

"Well, what if you had slipped?" she countered. "I could have caught you and saved your life." Kali teased him. "And you couldn't have caught me from up here, when I was down there." she said, looking down at the ground. Kali watched as he looked around them, and she did the same. She looked up at the stars, admiring them. They always, no matter how dark the world seemed, twinkled with light. She could remember looking up at them as a child, wishing that she could be one of them and get away from the orphanage. And now she really was away from that place. Away forever. It was great. She sat down next to him and kept quiet, wondering if he would say something to her.

Ryan laughed at her counter attack, and nodded. Alright, you're right. I could have slipped. But I still stand that I could have caught you if you had slipped. I'm quicker than I look. Ryan looked at her as she looked around, but looked away when he saw her turning her head back toward him. He wanted to ask what her life story was, but knew she would probably ask him the same thing. He didn't know how much detail he could go into. So.... he began, but again paused. What is your talisman? I've been trying to think of what you are, or might be, but I can't pinpoint it. I would say antelope by the way you bounded up that boulder. He laughed lightly.

Kali froze. She didn't know just what he was, a Hunter or an Innocent. He obviously wasn't a Seeker if he knew about the Talismans. She had only told Jo what her Talisman was because Kali knew that she was an Innocent, and trying to stop the Hunters. Joyceln had given her information and other things, and this had proved that what she said was true. But Ryan... what was he? "Well, are you an Innocent or a Hunter?" Kali asked, scooting a little bit away from him. If he was a Hunter and tried to get her, she wanted to be able to escape.

Ryan laughed, What do you think I am? I haven't tried anything. If I was gonna attack you I would have done it all ready. He tired to beat around the bush, if that was said to him and he was a girl, he wouldnt have assumed that meant an innocent. If she picked more into it then he would lie and say he was an innocent, but until then he didnt want to downright lie to her. He liked her a lot and wanted them to stay friends. Maybe one day a bit more. But he would take it as slow as she wanted to. Mine is a hyena, if that makes you feel any better. There, now you know something more about me. You dont have to tel me if you really dont want to. Which was true, he didnt want to force her to do anything.

She began to back down the rock, but still held on to it and looked into his eyes. Her feet had not touched the ground, and she was still half-way up the boulder. "Tell me what you are, Ryan." she said quietly. From this position, she could easily become her cougar and leap at him. She could pin him to the ground on the other side of the rock. But she would only do that in self defense. "I really like you, but you have to tell me. Tell me the truth." Kali said. She wouldn't run from him if he was a Hunter. She didn't run away from her troubles. And she wouldn't attack him unless he attacked her. She liked him too much. It seemed that her mind was already half-marking him as Hunter, the way he avoided her question and declined his own of what her Talisman was. She was suspicious, to say the least.

Ryan hesitate, she was already halfway down the rock and it made him feel bad. Should he lie or come clean and say he was a Hunter...he made up his mind. He looked down at his feet. Hunter. he said quietly. He didn't bother to look at her because he could already picture her in his mind, the shock and disgust. He knew she was an innocent by the way she acted. My parents are Hunters, I was born into it. I don't believe what they do, I never wanted to be one, and still don't want to be one. But they have horrible ways to make people do what they want. So I go along with it, try to find ways to make them think I do the missions they tell me. But bottom line is, I'm a Hunter. He still didn't look at her. I'm sorry i mislead you. He stammered.

Yes, true, Kali had been expecting it. But hearing it still brought shock to her face. How could she ever trust him now? He was one of the people trying to kill her and others like her. He seemed to be telling the truth about how badly he felt, but Kali assumed that they all must be skilled in the art of lying. "Why should I believe you?" she asked. It wasn't accusing, actually, and no anger filled her voice. A part of her still like him for the boy he was, rather than his alliance. But she would not forget: he was dangerous. She had not moved on the rock, neither up nor down. "If you give me a good reason, I'll stay. Give me a bad one, and I'll go." she stated. "I really like you, Ryan, and I want to belive what you tell me. But it would be too dangerous to risk. You could be lying to me."

Ryan nodded his head. I don't blame you. If I were you I wouldn't trust me either. As a reason to stay, I don't know if this is good enough. But before I met you, yeah I didn't 100% believe in being a Hunter, But i didn't care enough to do anything about it. But now, being with you has made me hate being a Hunter even more. And regardless if you stay or leave right now, I'm gonna try to fight my parents to break free from their spell, their hold of me. He lifted his head to look at her, his face solemn.

Kali thought for a moment. With each word, she only wanted to believe him more. But she couldn't fall, if this was a trap. But if he was a Hunter, he really would have attacked her by now. Done whatever it was that Hunters did to take her spirit from her. He would have tried to charm her into bed, like he had done with so many other women. He wouldn't have been telling her all of this. She still had his jacket around her shoulders, and she searched the pockets. There was nothing in there that he could have used against her. Nothing. "Empty your pants pockets." she told him, watching. If there was nothing dangerous that he held, Kali didn't see the harm in staying with him.

Ryan nodded and stood up. He reached deep into the pockets and turned them inside out. Out came his black leather wallet, credit cards and cash flying down to the rock, he had a packet of gum and a piece of paper with some grocery list on it. He let it all fall to a big pile of mess on top of the rock. He stood there waiting for her to say something else, he would do anything she asked him to, even make him strip naked (ooc - which would be funny lol) I promise you, i did not take you hear as a Hunter, or talk to you in the bar as a Hunter, just as a man with a crush.

Kali cautiously climbed back up the rock. She opened the wallet to make sure that there wasn't a knife compartment in there. When she saw that there wasn't, she put it back. She took the paper and read it. It was simply a grocery list. She looked at the credit cards and turned them over, expecting to see some kind of toxins to poison her with. She looked at the gum packet and sniffed it. It didn't smell like anything other than gum, but still. Kali placed the gum packet into his jacket pocket. She wasn't taking it from him, he would get it back when she returned the coat, but for now she didn't know what was within the wrappers. She didn't want to open them up, for fear that they really were just gum. Kali put her hands in his pants pockets, searching for anything more that he might be hinding. There were a few coins that had gotten stuck when he turned his pockets out, but that was it. She took his belongings and handed them back to him. "Alright." she said. "I can believe what you say, for now." and with that she sat back down beside him. "I'm sorry." she told him truthfully. Then she forced a laugh. "That's just what happens when someone might be trying to kill me, but he might not be." Kali hoped that she hadn't appeared to be rude. She didn't want to have that lable on her. She was just being cautious, and she felt better now to know that he was unarmed. She patted the space on the boulder beside her, indicating for him to sit down. She wanted to talk to him.

Ryan laughed a bit as she slipped her hands into his pocket, he was going to make some wise ass joke about her hands being there..but he decided against it. He watched her carefully go through each thing he possessed and thought it was good that she was being so picky. That's ok, its better that you be extra careful than just trust me because I'm cute. He had to throw some joke in there to lighten the mood. He sat down next to her and folded his hands in his lap, looking down at them. He laughed a little quietly and then had to be honest about something else. You know, I was hoping for a little kiss before we got into who I am... He kept looking down not daring to look at her, afraid to see what she thought about his comment.
